How important is it to keep the water that being added to the tank during a water change the same as the water temperature that is originally in the tank ? How stressed will the fish be if the new water added to the tank during a water change is of a different temperature of the water originally in the tank? How does one go about keeping doing a water change while attempting to keep the same temperature in the tank? I have a twenty gallon tank.

Hey all! Hope this post is in the right forum. Anyway, since I've recently moved, my water temperature has been a steady 78 degrees F. Is this OK?? Even when I make water changes the temperature is between 75 and 78 F. Where I live all sumer long will be between 95-105 F. I'm worried this is too hot for my goldfish... . If this is too hot for my dear goldies what can/should I be doing to bring down the temp? Thanks in advance

I read somewhere that temperature can be important for plants. This got me wondering, what temperature do you guys keep your tanks to keep both plants and fancy goldfish happy?

I didn't know where to post this...hopefully it's in the right spot =/ I live in Texas and my mother keeps the house super hot because she is always cold... I always have to keep 1-2 ziploc bags filled with ice in my tank. I am constantly refilling them once the ice melts. This keeps the temperature around 73-74 degrees. I bought some ice packs today...I am afraid that the tank will get too hot in the summer because I won't be home as often to put in some ice bags. Is there an easier way to cool off the tank?
