Hi all - sorry to keep bombarding you with all these different questions, but if you've been keeping track of my other posts....this is the first time I've really moved my fish, and as it is I'm only home until Monday for spring break. I've housed the goldies temporarily in a ~20g sterilite bin with their filter and everything, as the big tank I usually have them in is still not cycled.
I left that tank in my room at school, and made sure to leave a layer of water covering the gravel on the bottom before placing it in a dark place (specifically away from the window).
I have been thinking about it, and I'm just concerned about putting the fish back in the tank on Monday without cleaning it. I don't want to take away any of the BBs that may have established themselves in the gravel, but I also recognize that the water will have been sitting for 10+ days and it has a chance of harboring nasty bacteria from sitting that long, doesn't it?
If cleaning would be the best option, should I opt for a simple rinse of all the tank decor or a full-on sterilization with bleach?
Thanks in advance for the help!
