Can my fish be saved? Due to his dark colour I couldn't see him in the pond until I took all 6 fish out today for the startup maintenance. I kept him in a separate container in case he's contagious. Prior to today I didn't see much of him as he would always hide. Only once and a while when the other 5 fish were actively feeding would he make an appearance. But he moved around slowly and would not eat. He always stayed down deep. I pray he doesn't have dropsy but only his one side bulges out and the scales almost look like they're pineconing. Can he/she be saved? Unfortunately I cannot find a veterinarian around here that takes fish. I cannot get antibiotics without a prescription. All I have on hand to treat him with is aquarium salt.
hey everyone, my fish has been acting strange as of late. for a while he was just acting quiet and stressed out so i just decided to leave him alone in fear of adding to the stress. he wasn’t eating for a couple of days so i reduced the amount i was feeding him. he started acting a bit more social so i started to feed him his usual amount. i noticed that he was struggling to swim and he wasn’t moving his tail fin often so i investigated. i found the strange white/pinkish lines across his tail. i couldn’t seem to find anything like this while searching online. i apologise if i gave an unnecessary amount of information, but i wanted to give the full story. it’s also worth mentioning that his tank mate died of strange, unknown causes before he became timid and stressed. when the other fish died his. usually black and gold body was white and pink. the now dead fish made a habit of eating pebbles and i’m not sure if that was related to his death.

See above So, I got Yuki right around this time last year. At first he would not eat, and it took me a week to get him to start eating and he would only eat bloodworms but now loves his pellets. When I got him I didn't notice him making his nests but a couple of months ago, and last month, I noted his bubble nests were impressive, large, and very well formed. They have gotten less formed as of a couple of days ago when I switched him from the 20 back to his 2.5g. I read that when bettas bubble nests become a little sloppier it could be a sign of illness. He has always been very healthy, active, and aware. His eyes are clear and only closes his fins to swim around. He does this weird thing with his pectoral fins (the long thin ones that come from under his actual fins) it goes out to one side and it kind of looks like it is bothering him. Is his lowered skill in bubble nest making something I should be concerned about? Sorry for the improper terms for his fins I am rusty on betta anatomy. I can't get pictures or videos because it is too dark for now. I will get some tomorrow (:
