  1. Sad news today... I had noticed yesterday afternoon that Monet didn't seem to be acting 'himself'- although I couldn't place any classic signs of distress.... No fin clamping, bottom sitting, gasping, floatiness, or pineconing.... He simply seemed less active I woke up this morning to go to work, only to find him floating listlessly at the top of the tank. He was gone... I don't know what caused his sudden demise, only that I wish I could have done something more. My other two fish (Mochi and Misha) seem to be just fine. I am still a bit shaken by the whole event. Monet had been so full of life, and despite not having had much time with him, I'd grown quite attached. I will keep you in my heart little Monet You brought a smile to everyone you met.
  2. Swim free, Fluffy in a huge tank of pristine water with lots of bubbles to play in, and friends to swim with. I know your swim bladder is working perfectly now and all is well. :cry Poor Fluffy has been bottom sitting upside down for several weeks, it was getting harder and harder for her to get food. So this afternoon I euthanized her with clove oil. She was my first fish - starting out in a tiny 3 gallon betta tank, then graduating to a 29 gallon, and finally the 55 with the other 3 goldies. She grew tremendously and turned into a beautiful ryukin. We will miss her and her funny name. Her best buddy, Hercule spent a lot of time at the bottom with her the last few weeks, and I know he'll miss her too. Baby Fluffy in her first home: Fluffy and her friend Hercule
