Hello beloved Koko's members - Today I braved traffic so that I might share with you photos and experiences from Portlands Koi + Goldy show this year. I had a great time, it was a beautiful sunny day (black pants were a mistake) and I left with a lovely fish. You know, I thought I had nothing in the way of goldfish knowledge to share, but after being here for a little while, I guess I have absorbed quite a bit. I found myself sharing information on foods, coloration, and problems with water in Portland and Vancouver that can be remedied by x, y, or z. So thanks for all the education everyone, enjoy the photos I also told like 6 people about the forum when they inevitably had questions I didn't feel comfortable answering and we had nice chats so hopefully we will have new members They thought you'd be snobs like other forums and I let them know that no... you are all great! First the Koi (which scared the pants off me - I have never seen fish so big) Uh sorry guys, guess I moved on pretty quick to the goldfish Goldfish! A few of these fish were very stressed from being shipped so if you see one on it's side, it's not dead! They got up and around as the day warmed them and they chilled out. This guy (Tommy of goldfish.net) was really friendly and we talked a lot. ALL FISH BELOW ARE TOMMYS UNTIL NOTED OTHERWISE. So much headgrowth. I was in love (with the fish, although Tommy was nice.) The next 3 photos are the same fish, he swam into the bubbler area and got bubbles in his mouth and I managed to get a photo In love ^ Look at that fat ryukin in the background omgggg I saved the best of Tommy's ranchu for last. Obviously that is just my opinion, so many of his fish were lovely but this black.. lord help me. These next fish were the fish up for competition - I took photos of my favorites! There was a HUGE COMMON that I somehow missed to get a picture off. I am going back tomorrow and will hopefully see Koko and get photos of what I missed today. (PS can anyone tell I'm into head growth and ryukin just a little? Maybe?) My favorite ^ And the end of my great day... relaxing with lunch. It is hard to put ketchup on a hot dog while carrying a fish and other items Will hopefully update with part deux tomorrow and you'll get to see what's in the bag
