  1. this is my new oranda who is a boy and is 7 inches total length. his body alone is 4 inches. also I have a new tank but decided that the fish is more important so put the video in this section sorry my Ipod doesn't pick up sound well my new fish and tank: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5FQe7LbCE8&feature=youtu.be
  2. I have set up here the first aquarium I've ever owned! I was real lucky to get a twenty gallon tank already cycled and everything I needed from a friend. It came with a few tetras, as well, and after a few weeks of caring for them, I've at least proven to myself that I can keep fish alive. I've been doing some reading on goldies for quite some time, and I finally picked up my first Oranda this past week. From what I can tell, it's a she, and she is around 1 1/2 inches long, so I'm guessing she's about 2 months old. Very active, and seems to get along fine with the tetras. I was a little worried that they would nip at her fins, but they only bully amongst themselves. I also picked up some java ferns and anubias, which she so far hasn't touched. I love the nice glass beads at the bottom rather than the thick layer of white gravel that came with the tank. Much more pleasing and easier to keep clean. The background I painted myself. You can see in comparison to the rest of the tank, she's quite tiny at the moment, but should grow fast! Names are currently debatable. I've got Ramona, or Mona (Scott Pilgrim reference, for any fans out there) and China (pronounced ch-EE-na). Haven't quite decided yet. The tank(she's straight up against the front glass) I also have a seashell atop some driftwood that was wanting to drift: So hard to capture, she wiggles so much! Cutest little face! Nice side view
