  1. I just bought some black sand from Petco today and I got home to rinse it, but the water is still black. I put all the sand (10lbs) into a 5 gallon bucket and I'm just running water through it. I put the garden hose all the way at the bottom and have been continuously running water. it's been over an hour already and the water is still pitch black. Is this just the paint from the Petco sand coming off or is it just SUPER dust?
  2. Hello fishkeepers. I have had this lid disassembled for a few months: It has been lying on UPS delivery service boxes for a few months and now i want to assemble it back. What i am concerned about is toxins and dust. Well dust i can just wipe with damp cloth (or maybe baby wipes if it is safe for fish?), but is it possible toxins got accumulated on aquarium lid? This is how my aquarium looks now without lid:
