I'm looking to get my first gold fish aquarium and I've found a 66 gallon tank that I think should be enough volume for 2-3 comets, but I want to make sure the dimensions are adequate. It's 48.5"Lx12.75"Wx25"Tall. I'm wondering if the 12.75" width allows enough room for the fish to turn around easily once fully grown. I don't have a lot of room to get a tank much wider than that. Also, would Fancy's be better for a tank this size since they are shorter, or would they be worse since they are less flexible and worse swimmers? Just want to make sure I get the right tank for the right fish? Any input is appreciate. Thanks!! * I apologize if this has been covered. I searched the forums but couldn't find an exact answer.

Tropical storm Arthur is scheduled to come through RI on Friday, should I bring the pond comets inside for the storm?

My friend needs a little help. He recently moved his comet goldfish into a new tank. After he moved them, he noticed that one of his fish started to develop this nodules on the side of its face. Below is a picture of the nodules. http://s1060.photobucket.com/user/incredibleSE/media/image.jpeg.html?sort=3&o=1 Originally, he thought they were breeding stars but he then noticed that the same fish started to show red veins in its tails. He couldn't get a good pic of the tail since the fish was moving so much but the pic below shows part of the tail where you can see the red veins begin (the large red & white one in the corner). http://s1060.photobucket.com/user/incredibleSE/media/image1.jpeg.html?sort=3&o=0 Before moving the fish, he cycled the tank for 10 days. He used health bacteria starter and used the filter from his last tank in the cycling process. He's afraid it might be ich. Can someone give us some advice on what might be the issue and how to threat it?
