  1. Purchased 3 potted plants labelled as aquatic combo and one anubius with suction cup from Petco 50% sale today. Anybody know if the potted ones are anubias?
  2. Hi guys! I just purchased a plant being sold as an "umbrella plant" at petco. However, (not at all unusually) what was in the package was not an umbrella plant. Can anyone halp me id this thing: Hopefully it is aquatic and not a terrestrial plant, because I have been there as well Thanks! -Cyprinidae
  3. So today i went to petco to pick up some gravel not by choice but out of compromise. Anywho whenever i walk into a pet shop i always go look at the goldfish selection and for some reason petco stopped ordering goldfish they said something about there goldfish tanks...... go figure But as i was talking to the rep there i notice two beautiful faintails, swimming in the plant tanks they have, they where so beautiful with amazing tails color and size they where up for adoption and needless to say they almost came home with me! but it would have been a fight with my wife lol. But i cant stop thinking about them i want to go back and get them tomorrow ill go during my lunch break and take pictures so you guys can see what beauties they where.
  4. Are the comet goldfish at petco, you know the ones that are packed into a feeder tank and sold for 15 cents, the same comets that get really long tails and get pretty big? They are from the same Carassius genus in the Cyprinidae family as Carassius Auratus? I ask because I am confused as to why they are sold as feeders...... Goldfish are wonderful )': I also need to know so I can determine what I need to do when they get too fast for my Telescopes and Orandas.
  5. Hopefully my spastic answer to "You have fish experience" won't ruin my chances at an interview. I hate seeing those fish get so bad because people don't take care of them. They just lost two entire tanks of black moores, red telescopes, and orandas to either pH crash or ich. (Symptoms were cloudy eyes, missing scales, fin rot, and some white spots) I want to be one of the only people who actually know something about fish that works there.... Oh and my answer was "I know about substrates and cycles that fish need and I have a 55 with a bunch of goldfish".... I woke up pretty sick with heat exhaustion and low blood pressure.... I definitely know more than just that hah....
  6. Hey guys, so I rescued a cute little oranda from a tank at petco where every other fish got sick and died. Now, he has been perfectly healthy and nothing has shown up. From what I could tell, one fish was sick (his eye was sunken in and he was half eaten to death until something killed everyone else) it looked like it could have been ich. Now, he does NOT show any symptoms at all, and I couldn't quarantine him and he kept escaping through the divider in my tank. My question is, if something were to show up, when would it? Nothing looks wrong with him. He swims around, eats, and looks healthy, other than a couple of missing scales. I have had a close eye on him to make sure I can take him out if something comes up.
