  1. I got a big bunch of java fern and decided to super glue it to a little piece of driftwood I have. Made a quick video on how to super glue java fern (or anubias etc.) to driftwood or rocks I look terrified in that screen shot
  2. Forgive me if my "Ah ha! Moment" isn't new to anybody else and has been discussed before. I haven't had such a successful time attaching Java Fern to rocks and objects. Thread broke. Fishing line keeps slipping off rocks, and it's also sharp when cut (might scratch the fish). And I'm not confident that my daughter's no-slip hair bands are safe for the aquarium (they work great though). I just realized something that will be better. You know that little plastic mesh bag that the bio media for Aquaclears come in? And you're supposed to trim off the excess and toss it? Well, the excess bag would fit snugly but not too tightly over a plant bulb and around a rock or other object. This picture shows how the extra bagging fits nicely over an object. I'm going to cut it into smaller strips and wrap them around rocks and then tuck the Java Ferns underneath. Hope this info sparks some ideas.
  3. I want to buy some Java fern for my new tank, and tie it to some bogwood or rocks, I am choosing java fern because to me it is the only cold water plant for goldfish that doesn't look hideous and they wont eat it hehe. Do i need any special requirements for this plant? besides tying it to some bogwood?
