  1. My wild-type oranda, Sarge, is finally changing color after at least 10 months of being green! BEFORE: AFTER: He's got some yellow creeping up from his belly, which is almost white, and his green isn't so dense. When I bought him, he was in a tank full of fish who looked just like him, but were solid orange (siblings?). Any guesses on what color he'll turn next? Also, look at his little wen growing (finally)!
  2. A little while ago I posted asking what breed my gold/green/bronze..I dont know fantail was. I got some interesting answers. A couple weeks ago he started turning black! I LOVED it! I googled it again and found that sometimes they turn black because they are healing from shipping (its like a bruise). Well he's still this weird black/chocolate color on top and lighter on the bottom.. do you guys think he's healing or turning black, or might end up a random red?? I'm so excited to see what happens.. BEFORE: AFTER:
  3. I realized the other day that I haven't put up any photo of the tank since adding Pacha so I took a few after their W/C the other day. They've all changed quite a bit and grown a tad. Eventually I'll get some photos of their holiday digs, that like a dummy, I did after these photos. Here they are! The biffles! Pacha used to be almost all grey/black. I actually chose him in hopes he'd keep his black...guess the joke was one me! Lol Ponyo's typical face. That's my everyday greeting from Marley. It was like bumper cars in there! That's all this time! More to come! Thanks for looking
  4. today when checking out the GF, cause that is what you do..................I noticed that caldwell is more of a bronze color than the deep black like she was..............it will be interesting to see what she becomes..............but as far as the deep, velvet black I don't think she is gonna keep that color....................so a TRUE moor, is doubtful for her.......................and that's ok, I love her still......................
  5. Two pictures the day I got her... A pic from a month or two ago A few pictures taken 10 minutes ago. Oh Orange Julius... "HEY MOM! Did you see what I did to the bubble wand? Did you see it??" "I am not a hugger. Please let me go." "Waaaaaait, this could be a nom!!" Ok, I'm done giving my fish personalities LOL. This color change thing amazes me! I do miss her orange but that's ok I love my fatsy fish. Thanks for looking!
  6. I just realized after taking some pictures that my Pinto has gone through quite the little change in this month! I am excited to see what his final coloring will be. This was him earlier in July: And this is him today! (Please excuse the poop, it was pea day!) "Mom! Stop it! You're embarrassing me!!" Okay, okay... but seriously... he even has a patch of facial hair!
  7. Is it because of the Pro gold or because of the hard water here or something? I dont think its ammonia related, as i do 50-70% water changes daily (new fish, new tank)
  8. Hello, Given that I have 20 goldfish now, it would be a bit of an insane update if I were to attempt to post pics of them all in a thread. So, I figured I would do periodic updates with one or a few of them at a time, tied to a central theme. I'd like to present a little update on Kisuke, one of my blue orandas. __________ This is what he looked like when I first got him a year ago (April 2011) ___________ A few months later (September 2011), he got a little bit lighter, but not much ___________ Still the same in at the end of November 2011 ___________ Then, at the beginning of February 2012, he started showing some blond ___________ Then a month later (March 2012)... __________ It's been really fun watching him change colors. I don't think he's quite done yet, so there will be more updates to come. Thanks for looking
  9. When we got fred he had ick and white sores. He was Blue/chocolate/lemonhead. after about 6 months he has gone all "blue" pictures are before and video is after
