Hey all ....so as some of you know, for the past 4 weeks i've been using 5 glowlight tetras to cycle my 20 gallon long... Well, in any case, I had started with 5 of them... Of the five, there had always been one that was significantly smaller/weaker than the rest of them. A couple of days ago I noticed that he was 'missing'. This of course didn't concern me as the tetras sometimes hide in the plants or behind the filter intake. However, after a few more days I noticed that he was still missing I've literally checked everywhere in the tank/filter that he could possibly be... Now I can only assume that he passed away, and his tankmates consumed his remains *shudder* I've had no rise in ammonia or nitrites since his disappearance- which is odd... As a decaying body usually gives off some amount of waste... Is it possible that his tetra brothers did in fact eat him? I hate to think about it....and I feel quite bad that there is such cannibalism going on in my aquarium ...in any case, the five guys have been reduced to 4
Hi guys, I am trying to be thrifty here for setting this up cause I have lost 4 filters in the past 8 months and lost all of the receipts >.< I love Marineland so much but they are a little expensive... Same with Aquaclear. I'm not saying I don't want to spend money on a good filter, I am just saying I don't want to spend a lot of money on a filter if there is something less expensive and suitable. So besides Tetra and Aqueon, which filters can handle a 20l gallon with 6-12 fish? I was also looking at a brand called Aleas, has anyone ever used this brand? The XP-80 was only 14 usd.
