  1. Thank you so much for the great responses! comet182 I was actually thinking of pointing that out to my class. I was thinking of starting the speech by asking the class "How many of you have had a fish?" pause for raise of hands "How many of you has had a fish that has died within a month?" of course many of them will keep their hands raised. Then I will explain to them that fish are capable of living for a long time and they usually die because not a lot of people are educated on how to care for a fish properly. And because people are not informed about this there are a lot of animal cruelty to them that people do without realizing it. And I am still working on saying other things.. =) THANKS! Big hugs to all of you!! -Michelle
  2. Thank you soo much for all the replies! All these informations are so great and I will be using a lot of them and research them into more depths. I am still gathering informations so keep the awesome articles and stories coming! Thank you also for the great tips on how to present my speech. <33 Thank you so much again, love you guys. - Michelle edit: spelling errors
  3. Hey guys I need your help. I am writing a speech of my interest for my english class. The topic I chose for it was how the ASPCA and other animal cruelty organizations does not care much about the cruelty to fish or other animals that are a minority (reptiles and ect.). I was hoping you guys can help me on some points that I can bring up, such as things people do to fish that might be considered animal cruelty that people do but do not get punished or noticed for. Maybe stories or things you've seen, some complaints and proofs that the organizations do not care about fish. We all love animals and especially fish on this site and I thought it would be perfect to ask you guys to help me out. Thanks so much!! Also you can tell me things that might be good to say in my speech. -Michelle
  4. thats a really beautiful tank. I love the bubble wall. The blue LED lights are awesome! <3
  5. you're so luckyy!! I wish I had a room to just fill up with fish tanks. <3
  6. aww he's really cute! About the light.. my goldies did that when I first got them. They got used to it so he should be fine with the light soon.
  7. Great idea! Does this only work for underwater filters?
  8. omg so cute! I really hope my oranda will get a gorgeous wen like that.. what's your secret?! what do you feed him?
  9. I used to soak my goldies' foods in a big plastic cup, that was a hassel since the food will always stick to the bottom of the cup when i poured it out and my fish will be afraid of a giant red thing being dipped in to get water. Here is my solution: I bought a coffee measuring cup (or any measuring spoon thats big enough should do) just for my fish. They cost about 75 cents. And now I use that to soak my fish food. I just dip the cup in, scoop some water out, put the food in and wait until its soaked. The food comes our easily and you can always dip the spoon in because it is small and doesn't scare the fish. My cup kinda looks like this.. Hope you like the idea! This post has been promoted to an article

  11. I do have some whole tank pictures, I will put them up soon. Right now I am piled up with school work and finals so its hard for me to keep up with kokos. I'll put it up real soon, promise! =)
  12. Thankss The one that looks suprised in Nemo, she is a big fatty and eats all the food.. hehe
  13. Awww thanks you guys Both goldies are girls and they get along great. I had a red cap with the lionhead in a different tank but the lionhead kept on bullying him so i had to separate them. Unfortunately the red cap fell ill and passed away. But Nemo is very nice to Momo and they take turns eating the pellets when I feed them. I am thinking of getting a calico oranda or lionhead but I don't want to mess up the chemistry between Nemo and Momo, especially because Nemo could get feisty sometimes. ;P
  14. *HUGS* Sorry for your loss, squishy was an adorable fish. <3
