  1. Thank you, I had no idea i kinda taught myself fish keeping through YouTube and no one told me it wasn’t needed. I guess a couple years ago people used it more. And yes I’m glad I got the medication my big oranda (Ohshi) seems to be doing better that red spot turned into a small white spot then completely disappeared before even getting the medication. The spots on his rays are still there but they seem too have diminished slightly from the first round of prazi. He didn’t seem to bottom sit too much during the first round of prazi he did flick his fins a little bit during treatment. Thank you so much for all your help I was starting to feel like I was at a loss. I’m so glad he is doing better it gives me hope that I can add more fish when they are completely healthy.
  2. Hello again I finished the first 4 days of prazi, do I need to run carbon for the next 3 days before the next round or should a 80/100 percent water change be fine?
  3. Hi again, the prazi powder is finally here and I want to make sure the dosing I use is correct, I got the exact one you recommended. It says 1/4 teaspoon for 40 gallons but I’m treating a 55 gallon. Math is NOT my strong suit haha so I’ve come for some assistance with my dosing and math. It also says mix it in vodka then place it in the water is that really needed and is it safe for the fish? Thank you.
  4. Omg thank you so so much I will treat them with the prazi when it gets here anyways and keep an eye on this, I don’t care if they end up looking bumpy I just want him to be healthy and happy. I appreciate the help so much❤️❤️❤️
  5. these ones when I pick him up they have some red streaks around them not how his fin usually looks that’s why I’m concerned.
  6. They are harder almost as if there is a break in the fin. They cannot be scraped off similar to the one on his side but the fin doesn’t sit as upright as my other fish, it didn’t look like this at all yesterday. If you look very closely there are some bloody spots around the white dots, I’ve never seen something like this in my fish before I’ve had very good luck I guess until now.
  7. I’m at a loss here, I don’t have the meds yet because they haven’t shipped but my fish has developed other spots on his dorsal fin and quickly basically overnight I can’t really even tell that it is it doesn’t look like ich it looks similar to the other spot. I just don’t know what to do at this point.
  8. Okay thank you I will keep this in mind next water change as well as when I rinse media💖
  9. Okie dokie that makes sense, do I take out the carbon as well and how large of a water change? Thank you for all the help
  10. Also when you say 4 days in aquarium and 3 days out do you mean dose it for 4 days then stop the medication for 3 and the repeat?
  11. Okay I just ordered the medication and will treat them as soon as it gets here! so should I just do it in the water or would mixing it with food be a better option? and also should I worry about the affects on my biological filtration? Thank you endlessly for the advice and kindness 💕💕💕
  12. Yes actually I have never done that, what do I need to get and how do I do it? I never treated these two fish with anything because they never showed any signs of anything but I’m willing to do whatever to make sure he’s in tip top shape. He also is an older goldfish ive had him for 4 years and he was big when I got him so there is no telling how old he is if that maybe could contribute.
  13. thank you so so much I just worry because I love them too much ❤️ I appreciate they reply and I will definitely keep this updated

  15. Hello, I am new to this forum but not new to fish keeping. So I have run into a small issue I have not dealt with before I have an oranda in my tank that has developed a tiny red spot near his tail. He is not acting in any abnormal way I just noticed it and wanted advice. I did the first thing I knew and gave him a short salt bath. The darker orange scale has always been there I’m just concerned about the new spot. It’s not large, should I just watch Him or do I need to treat for something. He is in a 55 Gallon with only one other fish and he is a tiny ryukin.
