  1. Hi, it’s been a long time. I was going to try and keep the tank up and let him go naturally if that even happens, but as I was cleaning the tank and water splashed up and got in my eye. That’s when I got scared and put him down and through out all my equipment. I flushed my eye out, but it’s still bothering me a little. Maybe it’s the high salt he was in and my energy is really low today. I don’t feel good. I read that Mycobacteria is even in under coloronized swimming pools and the bacteria is in there, they call it swimming granuloma. And they say the bacteria don’t like our body warmth. Maybe it’s all in my mind, but we’ll see. Thanks for asking, Donetta
  2. Sorry please don’t reply to this. I changed my mind about keeping him because it’s too risky for my family. Didn’t want to waste your time. If I start over again, I know where to go. Thanks! Netta
  3. Hello! Glad y’all still here! I had goldfish last summer and you guys helped me with my fish. I no longer have them. I decided to set up a new tank 1 month ago. I read this book on goldfish and followed the quarantine process with the treatments I named above. It was suggested that My fish looks like he has TB. I got him from the lfs. I know oftentimes people Euthanize fish for TB, but it can’t be confirmed without a test. Cheeto is fine for the most part. He swims around the tank, he does pip even after all the treatments I did, he’s not pooping well, but he loves to eat. I haven’t been feeding him a lot and he’s really hungry. Sometimes his energy is low. Like this morning seems like he had a hard time swimming off the bottom of the tank, but he did get up and has been swimming fine every since. Also his tank has been salted to .5%ppt for two weeks at 82 degrees and I’m bringing both down over the next 4 days. Maybe the salt is adding to the lethargy. I want to see if there is anything else I can do for him. Like I treated with Epsom salt food for 10 days. I wonder if that works as well as Metro food. I appreciate if you can give me some ideas. Maybe I can try something different. Thanks Donetta aka Netta Test Results for the Following: Ammonia Level(Tank) 0 Nitrite Level(Tank) 0 Nitrate level(Tank) 0, uncycled tank, 50% water changes every other day. Any unusual behavior like staying at the bottom, not eating, etc.? He loves to eat, but I’m told he is too skinny and told that he looks like he is wasting, He pips periodically, and he has white stringy feces. I think he is constipated. I believe I over fed him last Monday. I fed him 4 pieces of Repashy SuperGold. I haven’t seen a good BM since then only strings and mucous. I fasted him for 2 days then feed him peas on Wednesday. I fed two pieces of Repashy today. I’m not seeing hardly any stool. Bowels was more regular prior to Monday, but even before then there were strings regularly.
  4. Awesome!! What Luck, I didn't think I would actually win! Thanks!!
  5. Oh I see most people do salt and heat. Just curious what temp and how much salt usually works?
  6. Hi MJ how do you usually treat for Ich? Thanks Donetta
  7. I just got it.....Crown, Royal, and Whiskey Duh! They look great!
  8. Yeah they must have not been in there long. Glad you was able to work out something for them. I do remember seeing two Betta's in a cup before. The defeated Betta was lying down motionless and the other was parading over him like he was Muhammad Ali. Poor thing. I took the cup to the sales person. Another time I saw this Betta in a cup with a stomach totally inflated looking like he was 9 months pregnant. Someone had dumped a whole bunch of pellets in his cup and he proceeded to try and eat himself to death. Again I took the cup to the sales person and he said "kids". It's sad that customers act like that, but in this case the company is putting the animals at risk. Terrible.
  9. Wow I never seen fish gills before. How did the cover come off?
  10. Wow shame on Walmart! I've seen some crazy stuff with Bettas at a pet stores, but never a three for one special all in the same cup. Hot mess! I'm surprised they're all alive. Hope they pull through.
  11. That's interesting. Good luck this time around.
  12. Sounds like a lot of fun. I never been to a fish show.
  13. Hi I need to clean my filters too. I have a sponge and HOB filter. Do you think it'll be ok to squeeze them both out during the same water change?
  14. Hi and good morning y'all. TGIF....was this close to not coming to work today. Wanted to take the day off and clean my tank and take care of other business LOL. But I came to work anyway. Will take care of the stuff this weekend.
  15. Thanks Myra, I'll remove all the salt. Should I do my last scheduled round of the Prazipro once the salt is removed? That would be number 6.
  16. Uh oh!!!!! Sorry, my question started it! Glad your fish 🐟 s better😊
  17. Hi thanks for responding. What's your name or do you go by Artic Mama? Thanks for the info on the stringy poop. I'm doing Metroplex Med food right now. I'm on day 12 will finish out the three weeks. They are no longer bottom sitting. They flashed a lot initially, but hardly ever anymore. I did see Goldie flash once on Monday night, but no more after that. I panicked cause I had not seen them flash in probably 2 plus weeks. I'm on round 5 with Prazipro and will start the final round on Friday. I only have .1% Aq salt in my tank now, Can you clarify, should I just water change the salt out? Then if it's needed i.e. Cause of flashing bring it back up to .3% or .5%. I am concerned about their increased air gulping though and I have plenty aeriation in the tank. The gulping got better, but has now returned. I was double dosing the Prazipro when my Aq salt was .3%, but when I brought it down to .1% on Saturday then I single dosed. I wonder since I put in less Prazipro that they have more symptoms i.e. Air gulping.
  18. I also saw Goldie flashing some last night too.
  19. Okay I'll hold on. Yes, I'm using the liquid Prazipro. Thanks
  20. Hi y'all, I'm concerned about my two fish. They are on their 5th round of Prazi. I dosed number 5 on Saturday and will do the water change tonight. After I dose the Prazi I usually would not see any symptoms from the fish until after 3 days when the meds wear off. However last night Goldie was gulping air a lot and it was only day two since I dosed the Prazi. Goldie has always been more symptomatic. I just realized I changed a few things. For the first four rounds I was double dosing Prazi for each treatment because I had .3% of salt in the water. I kept it at .3% for 3 weeks. Later I read on this forum about how Prazipro should not be used with .3% of salt. So after three weeks I dropped it to .015% of salt and still double dosed, but at this last dose which was 5, I dropped the salt to .1% and used a regular dose of Prazi. I did this because I read Prazipro would not be effective/safe with.3%, but would be ok with up to .02%. I hope y'all are following me. Anyway, I don't know what to do now. I don't know if the gulping is from the flukes or if they have something else like Ich, but with no spots. Also, they both still have white stringy poop. They have been on Metroplex food for 11 days now. Thanks for the help.
  21. It's amazing how they have their own personalities.
  22. That is a bigggg fish! How long have you had Big Boy? I think I'd be scared of him lol. You have awesome tanks with gravel and everything! Yeah you guys are cool peoples! My day was good just lounging around now. Winding down for work tomorrow. Hope you had a good day too.
