I noticed my fan tail(Sunny) had 3 little white spots on his tail after a water change 2 weeks ago. Did a ton of research, and decided it was probably ich. Read up on treating with heat and salt. Wanted to be sure so I waited to see if it spread a little. It didn't for almost a week. Him and his two tank mates were acting fine, eating, swimming, no rubbing on anything and all that. The other two never showed any signs, but I did see that Sunny's tail had a few more small spots on it. So I decided to take action before it got out of hand. Yesterday I did another 50% water change(My usual day is Saturday) and started slowly raising the water temp, and added extra aeration. Added 1tsp per gallon aquarium salt, and again 12 hrs later. (Everything I read said raise it .1% every 12hrs till .3) Got the temp from 72°f to 80°f over that 12hr period as well. Woke up this morning and Sunny's spots are all gone! I know I would traditionally add salt 1 more time and get heat to at least 84°f and keep it there a week. But now I'm confused. Everything says it will get worse before better, but he already looks like new. Should I continue as planned just in case, or was it something different altogether?

*I posted this in another Goldfish forum 2-3 weeks ago and never got a response. This week I noticed he has been bottom sitting and the spots are back, but on the other side. Eats fine, other tank mates are fine. I completely confused. I got the heat to 84 and left the salt at .2 for the week. Figured I'd rather be safe than sorry. Please help?
