  1. So happy to report that she is acting like a totally normal goldfish! I've never been more happy to see normal, food colored poop in my life!! She even ate the prazi flakes. Guess I should continue them for a few more days as a precaution? Anyway, I believe we're out of the woods. Now to relax and enjoy the beautiful snow... Thanks for the help ladies
  2. She eagerly ate her entire breakfast and followed it up with a few bites of peas. Haven't seen poop yet though...
  3. I'm trying my best not to get too excited, but.....SHE ATE!! I couldn't believe it! I didn't have a syringe, but I went ahead and made a paste, lifted her just above the water and put some food on her mouth. I lowered her down and she started acting like she was searching for food. I put some repashy and a few pellets in and she nibbled and chewed, spit some out, and kept coming back to it. Not sure how much she actually ingested, but she's wandering around the tank acting very normal now. I plan to keep her in the qt tank, and hopefully she'll resume eating like normal soon. She's at the front of the tank begging!! Thanks so much for all the help! Hopefully I'll get to follow up with a success story
  4. Thank you for the video. We had around 5" of snow last night, which in many parts of the country would be considered insignificant, however here in the south constitutes a blizzard. So I'm pretty sure I will not receive my shipment of metro and kanaplex. Honestly the fish looks really well this morning. I added a tad bit more salt and a tiny dose of prazipro before bed. No raised scales at all this morning. She is out and about, swimming with no issues. She continues to refuse to eat a bite and is still showing no interest in the myriads of foods I've passed by her nose. I'm searching for a syringe, but I don't think I own one. I hope she pulls through whatever's going on.
  5. Yes. The recommended 1/2 tsp. I could add more. I'm really hoping that her scales look a little raised because she's lost so much weight. It's hardly noticeable, so maybe it isn't dropsy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Oh my goodness!!! What on earth is this trailing from her? I just got home and found saw this. I'm noticing the beginnings of pineconing [emoji20]. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. There are other sellers on amazon, but it will be a week before they could get it to me. Hopefully amazon can get this worked out. I received the oxytetracycline flakes today, but again...fish won't eat. I'm going to have a heck of a fishy medicine cabinet when everything gets here. I just hope it's not too late to help little Sheldon, or Shelly [emoji846]. I'm so attached to this fish. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I just called the nearest Petsmart and they do not have triple sulfa. He said they have erythromycin and tetracycline. We are expecting inclement weather this afternoon or I'd drive farther. Will the kanaplex help? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. No, no poop. There's a Petsmart in an adjoining town, I'll pick up triple sulfa. If it's eggs, when should she resume eating? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Apparently there is an availability issue with metroplex. Amazon is contacting today regarding my order. The kanaplex is arriving today. No change with Sheldon. Bottom sitting now. Upright with no swimming issues. Still uninterested in food. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I was hoping to get some feedback on the new situation with my red and white oranda. At this point I don't even know if he should even be in a qt tank with epsom salt and meds. Just wish I knew what to do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. This fish has me so baffled. Not a single sign of disease. Not even bottom sitting tonight since moving him to the qt tank. He's swimming around and seems fine. The sad part is that when the white oranda started bottom sitting he went down and stayed with her. He was there when I left for work and there when I came back. Since removing her he stopped bottom sitting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. She's not very old, her body is not even 2 inches long. could it be??! I don't have a clue about his/her gender. I'm waiting on the metroplex. I paid for expedited shipping and it still hasn't arrived. The flakes won't do much good for him, he won't eat a thing. The concentration of metronidazole is 250 mg and it also has 75mg of praziquantel. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. His belly fills very soft. What does that indicate? Update on the white baby that pineconed.. she was hovering on the bottom and her scales were sticking out even worse. She looked so pitiful. I purchased clove oil at the pharmacy earlier and just put her down . I moved the red and white oranda (Sheldon) to the qt tank. He was bottom sitting when I got home from work. I checked the shipping status of the med and it's supposed to arrive anytime tonight. He still won't eat. I dosed general cure because it has metro and prazi. Should I add PraziPro? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. . Thanks. I just wish I would've had all the meds on hand. I think treatment would be going much better. As it is I agree, I think they are in good hands here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Here's the oranda that won't eat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Ok, 10 gallon hospital tank is up and running. I dosed prime. I put an AquaClear 20 that I had in my fish stuff in and an air stone. Nothing in the media basket but filter floss, but I thought the filter would help with aeration. I dosed 1/2 teaspoon of epsom salt. The metro and oxytetracycline won't be here until tomorrow unfortunately, plus the ph and temp is too low, so I can't move her over tonight. I put a small heater in. Not sure what I should keep the temp. I hope tomorrow isn't too late for her. At least she is still getting the meds that are in the main tank. She ate more prazi flakes again tonight. 18. It let me send a small image. Sorry it's blurry, she's so active. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I'm trying to send pics but I can't through Tapatalk. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. General Cure and PraziPro. I was planning to move the white oranda that has started to pinecone to the qt tank. He's still eating. The other oranda hasn't pineconed, nor are there any outward signs of illness. He just won't eat. We're treating him for flukes. This is getting crazy now. Wonder if I should treat the whole tank? I have 2 more babies that seem perfectly fine though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Not to make things more complicated but....with the pH fluctuation between my tap and tank, should I fill up the qt with some tank water and tap water to minimize stress? Keep in mind the tank has several meds in it at the moment. Not sure if I should start the qt process with new water or not. If only I'd thought of setting out my 5g buckets with tap water last night! I could always do the baking soda in the qt after I fill if needed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Oxytetracycline flakes are on the way, should be here Friday. Seachem metroplex should be here tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Ok, thanks so much. Right after work I'll get her set up. She ate the prazi flakes this morning before I left. The oranda is still out and about, but won't eat. He did act a little more interested though, he actually went for a piece, just didn't follow through.
  24. I have no idea. The water report from the company that drilled the well indicated the pH as 7.6. When I test my tank water the results are always 7.6. When I test the water out of the tap, it is always 6.6. When it sits out in a bucket overnight it reads 7ish. I have the API GH test kit, but the color never turns orange. I'll get pics this afternoon.
