  1. The first 2.2 meters fish swimming racing. In memory of my new fish tank!
  2. Update of my main fishtank. It used to be a white plastic container, its size is 1200mmx40mmx28mm. Now I've changed it into a wooden fishtank, the size is 220mmx50mmx30mm. Also I adopt all the elements that I have used in my spare tank into this new tank. For example, a big bucket to deal with the fish waste, a huge tidal filter(1000mmx32mmx26mm).I also got a temperature safety controler(in case of the overheat, cuz i used fishtank heater in winter). And I got an alarm of water level for safty....Enjoy it my dear fish...
  3. Latest situation of my spare tank...
  4. Jesus. One of my carrot rotted. Then I pulled another one out to check if it rotted too. It was fine and had grown some new root. But I had no idea how to put it back....So they are all dead now.....I think you are right, that's a ficus tree. i am still thinking about what kind plants that I can grow in the flood bed. I am planing to build a bigger fishtank filter in the future, I always want to find some plants that are easy to grow and require little time to take care of. Is hot pepper a good one? Sorry your carrots died :cI don't know about the pepers, my husband wanted to try them though. Looked up with search engine "easy to grow aquaponic plants" the site I looked puts peppers in the category of: http://aquaponics.com/recommended-plants-and-fish-in-aquaponics/SO not sure how they will do now... the peppers are still very small. I keep a lot of common house plants available in my area of US with roots in water on other tanks. But some house plants don't work like cactus/succulents.Successful house plants: Hemigraphis colorata 'Exotica' (Purple waffle) Hemigraphis repanda (Dragones tonue) Pothos Fittonia albivenis (angel kiss) Tradescantia zebrine (wondering jew) Cyperus Umbrella Sedge Aluminum plant Friendship Plant (Pilea involucrata) Ruellia brittoniana 'Katie' Spathiphyllum (peace lily-be careful some species get HUGE) Dwarf Palm Neanthe Bella Syngonium (aka arrowhead plant) Antherium Aglaonema (Chinese evergreen) Alocosia polly Sweetflag Star Grass Rain lily Helxine soleirolii Philodendron Dracaena braunii (lucky bamboo) .. I'm sure I'm forgetting some Wow...So many names. I will check them out one by one later. Thank you for information, sister.

  6. Thank you man. My filter is what we call Aquaponics system.I adapted it into my goldfish tank. People used it to mass produce vegetable and eatable fish. I don't know its English name. I simply call it tidal filter, but I also fixed a shower tube on the top. There is a device on the left side of the container(the white tube and the yellow cup), which will make the water in the container go up and down repeatedly. So the lower part of the clay stones will immerse into the water cyclically and the upper part of them will remain dry. The water will be purified by the microorganism in the clay stones in the lower part, and aslo , I grow some plants in the clay stones to absrob the nutrient from the water(by their roots). And I also keep some earthworm in the clay stones to eat the fish waste.Sorry for my bad English, I really dont know how to describe the theory of that device by English. There is a guy called citizen peng. You can search for him for more information in youtube.

  8. Thanks. I learned this skill, feeding goldfish with sesame seeds from a forum in our country. Many people are doing so.However it's not a common food. We still feed the goldfish with ordinary goldfish food, such as professional goldfish food like the German Tetra fishfood and blood worm. But some people believe that feeding goldfish with raw and natural food like sesame seeds and duckweed is good for their digestion and health, cuz they are easy to digest and provide some natural nutrition that other food may not have. Also cuz sesame seeds are easy to buy.... So I feed my fish with commercial goldfish food and sesame seeds together. Usually sesame seeds is used as dessert. And also after my fish or my fish tank recover from unusual condition, I would feed them with sesame seeds, it helps to keep the water clean. So far so good, and my fish love to eat them.
  9. Actually....they are nearly the cheapest ones I got from the goldfish market. 5 to 15 Rmb(1 to 2usd) each. Luckly, goldfish origniate from China, and we have almost every kind of goldfish here, also the city I live in has a biggest goldfish market in China. So buying goldfish here is just like buying fruits. However I only like ranchu ,lionhead, and red hat(I dont know its name , it has a huge red hat). But I am new here, hoping to know more knowleadge about raising goldfish in a more human way(our fellowman suck at this, most of them would probably flush them into the toilet and buy another ones if any bad thing happened)........ Your fish are so wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing them with us. Your fish would cost hundreds, maybe thousands, of dollars here.... I wish it was as easy to buy beautiful fish like that here "as easy as buying fruit"!!!!! So fantastic!!! Thank you again! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Thank you so much. Too bad it's too far away, or else I could send you back a fish for your compliment. haha.
