  1. Chris here... Hi Butterfly, yes I agree with your observation... Here in southern CA, both stores are extremely limited in meds and water care products... It's really tough when you have an emergency... Online is pretty much my only resource...
  2. Chris here... so now that you have painted the bottom... Are you doing a bare bottom or are you going back to sand???
  3. Chris here... How wonderful you have found a vet that correct the problem... Wishing you and your water baby the best....
  4. Chris here... Wow!!! Allie that tank is amazing!!! I thought my tank was big... But since it's the size of your sump tank, I guess it's dinky... Row boat vs a Royal Caribbean Cruise ship....
  5. Chris here... OMG!!! They are too funny!!! Do not get between them and the noms!!!
  6. Chris here... Yay Hugo!!! So glad he is showing good improvement...
  7. I had to blame someone!!! And wouldn't you know there are some wonderful ones up on the ECR web site... The only reason they are not mine is that there is no room at the inn... LOL!!! OMG I KNOW!!! Everytime I get a notification from youtube about ECR's livestream I "oooo" and "ahhhh". My saving graces are lack of room and lack of cash flow I know!!! Same here... It should be illegal to have such cuteness!!!
  8. Chris here... Hi MJ, I think it's the name... you see the word Hindenburg and you see in your mind the old pictures if the huge air ship... I know I do... My son believes that the baby's shape and the projected growth based on pictures of adult Pearlscales I showed him that the name is perfect for the baby... LOL!!! But it is a shock to see this little baby with such a big name...

  10. Chris here... Congrats!!! So excited for you and your water baby...
  11. Chris... I put about 1/2t in the tank... Went upstairs to get cleaned up for the day, came back down to check the babies and there was no duck weed in the tank.... I wonder where it went???
  12. Chris here... The duck weed has finally arrived!!! I put it in a bucket of old tank water last night... I'll be setting up the tub and give it good sun today since it be in the mail for days and days...
  13. Chris here... Well, the finely chopped green beans were a hit this morning... All the water babies were hovering them right up... I had to add a little more cause what I added was gone in heartbeat... And that was after hand feeding the repashy 2 bites per fish... All these babies seem to love veggies... Will do green beans again this evening... I also took out the grazing broccoli... They made quite a dent in it over night... Now I'm gonna vacuum out poo... If I can see it then I know they are all poo-ing well with those veggies... Of course not so much for Mr. P.
  14. Chris here... Your calico is living the good life and it's showing!!!
  15. fresh is always better Chris here.... Koko, after I steam the green beans, should I then chop them up into tiny pieces??? The reason I'm asking is that I seamed 3 beans, with both ends cut off... So I took one of them (whole) and put in a veggie clip... And the entertainment has begun... All four fish are trying to eat this one loan bean and it refuses to cooperate... And of course Mr. Potato Head knows that this bean is his exclusively... So he try's to protect it... So every time he chases some one way another sneaks in for a bite... But no one gets any cause the beans outer skin won't let them truly bite thru... So I assume that I was supposed to chop it up... But I'm an evil momma, I'm enjoying the show... They should be soft enough you can kinda squish them They are squishy... It's just the outer skin is kind of tough and inside is soft... I would then cut them up hun... how did they do? Hi Koko, I took down the bean cause they all lost interest... Too tough... I then hung a piece of softer steamed broccoli just see if he would be interested in that... Well all the fishys are liking that... They are all grazing on it... More like a drive by bite and Mr. Potato Head is again trying to claim it as his exclusively... Every time he swims away here come the others for a bite... He is getting a little tired so he is less vigilant in his protection of the broccoli... I will do the beans for the morning feeding... He is still floatie at night and his poo is long, white and kind of gel like or green like the peas and fluffy...
  16. Hi Koko, I'm heading to the market After a large WC... Should I buy fresh or fresh frozen??? Either way I will steam them and then attach it to a veggie clip... I already fed peas this morning but move to the green beans for the evening feeding.... Thank you!!! Pre-WC test results: PH 8.0, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 5-10 fresh is always betterChris here.... Koko, after I steam the green beans, should I then chop them up into tiny pieces??? 18. Nope. Duckweed will compete with the biobugs for the ammonia. Oh dang... . I was hoping the do double duty...
  19. I would love to keep it cycled if possible... Chris here... Thank you all... I will put in a tub with the Airstone and feed it.... I was wondering... I'm waiting on some duck weed to arrive... Would it work to put the duck weed with it in the same tub??? Would they support each other???
  20. Chris here.... See what happens when you leave them all by themselves.... They get into lots of mischief....
  21. Chris here... Hi, I just finished a quarintine period of over three months and now I extra media that won't fit in my AC70's because I'm running them full on my 40g.... I would hate to loose it, so I need your advice... Right now it is sitting in tank water from yesterday's 100% WC....
