  1. I recently bought some Dwarf African Frogs from petsmart. They both died within 24 hours. ? Where can I get them, so they are happy and healthy? Where do I find a breeder?
  2. After two doses of .1 g 48 hours apart and another dose of .15 grams 24 hours, after the second dose. After all this, I can still see several pesky worms moving around on the glass. Before the third dose I moved all of the shrimp and what MTS I could find into my spare 2 1/2 gallon. This morning I woke up to about seven dead shrimp of varying ages from big old red ones tosmall ones barely painted with red. Most of those that were still living were found crowded and the glass near the top. I just did about a 50% water change and so far so good. Any thoughts? I am a little nervous because my family and I are going away for the weekend and I am a little concerned about what may happen in my absence. Do I need to dismantle my tank and start over or is there something else I can try?
  3. Thank you! I just got Fenbendazole.... and will be dosing my tank, as soon as I figure out the dosage.
  4. Thank you! I have done some research and I believe they are planaria. Which are very bad for my cherry shrimp. I found that using fenbendazole, found in dog dewormer will kill them and it is shrimp snail and other fauna safe. The method But any other information so it can give me would be much appreciated. Especially if my identification is wrong.
  5. I have a 15 gallon planted tank that's been set up for several months now. It has maybe two dozen cherry shrimp and 10 MTS. Today I've noticed and the glass hundreds of little clearish white wormy things squirming around. I don't know what they are, but I want them gone. Video of the little buggers! Do you know where they are? How do I get rid of them without harming the shrimp or the snails?
  6. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year… Update from a few days ago. https://instagram.com/p/BOnHnt1BuVU/ Day 84 of the Great Java Moss Experiment. The moss from jar 2 is clearly doing much better then jar 1. I am going to keep this experiment going until 100 days which would be January 4, 2017.
  7. They have same or similar temperatures… Both mason jars are sitting side-by-side in front of the same window. I just measured the temperature of both jars each comes out at 67°F
  8. Ugh........ finally a photo update! This is from the the 7th. https://instagram.com/p/BNujwN7Btqa/ Day 72 of The Great Java Moss Experiment. Can you guess which ball of moss came from which jar? There is definitely a lot more java Moss in jar 2. I do even say that jar2's Moss looks healthier and greener than jar1.
  9. Hey, I am looking for some Malaysian Trumpet Snails for my 15 gallon planted cherry shrimp tank. I have done my research and come to the conclusion that this is the type of snails I need/want. However everywhere I look I can only find them being sold in groups of 10 or more. And I do not need that many snails. I am wondering if anyone knows where I can get some Malaysian Trumpet Snailsin the smaller quantities. Thank you so much. P.S. I live near Kalamazoo, Michigan.
  10. Sorry about not updating sooner… I've been busy with my internship and preparing to graduate this December. I will try to add an updated picture soon. Here is a quick update… Both jars are growing, but I have to say jar 2 with the air stone has had so far far more growth then jar 1. I'm going to try and keep this experiment going at least in till Christmas. I have done one major water change because I found several snails in the jar( not quite sure where they came from). I do have to serve somewhat regularly add more water as it evaporators. I normally try to add water from my 15 gallon which currently has live plants and a handful of red cherry shrimp. Again I will try and give you a photo update this weekend.
  11. https://instagram.com/p/BLhPkg4hrE8/ Photo from day 18....... Not sure if there is much of a visible different from day 1. I have added water and Excel a few times. I have stirred them once or twice, so the moss gets sun.
  12. I am testing the growth of the Java moss. I saw on another website, where someone left some Java moss in a jar in sunlight and it grew like crazy to fill the entire jar. http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/33-plants/131018-new-way-grow-java-moss.html I wanted to try it for myself. I decided to turn it into an experiment by having two jars, one with just the java moss and One with some water movement. I want to document the growth in each jar. I also forgot to mention I did put Seachem Florish in each jar.
  13. Experimenting with Java Moss… Day one at approximately 12:00 PM, two pieces of approximately equal size of Java moss placed in 2 quart jars. The two jars are placed in a south facing window in sunlight. Both jars are open. The jar on the right contains an air stone to create water movement. Well, the other jar is left alone with no water movement. https://instagram.com/p/BK01UopBEjR/.
