  3. I'm moving 3 fancy gf to a bigger tank because they've not been in ideal water. Should I put some of the old water in the new. These are my roommates fish I don't want to kill them. I'm new to fish this is a rescue mission. I've spent a lot of money to get this tank and get it going and it's all for these fish. I can't have suffering happening under my roof. One of his fish is swimming butt up so I don't have time to cycle so I'll do big water changes. How do I do this safely. One of the fish is appx 8 years old the other 2 are 4yrs old. I'm trying to make this better and I'm so scared I don't want to make it worse. Help. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

  5. If my tank is 88 in. Around and 24 deep how many gallons is it. I am not a math person and I'm trying to save some beautiful fish and I need to know the gallons. Ugh. Thank you. It has six sides like an octogon if that matters. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  6. I just got my first fish that I fell head over heels in love with. So I'm learning so much stuff about pH ammonia etc. My roommate has a tank with 3 goldfish that are huge. They're in a 25 gal tank. Not big enough by many gallons. So I bought a 75 gal acrylic tank it's beautiful but he's not in a hurry to move them. I am in a hurry. I tested his water for ammonia when he wasn't home and I about lost my mind I just started changing water as fast as I could. I then tried to educate him on the torture tank he has going and I'll tell you my house was a fight everyday for a week before everybody in the house was on him to listen to me. My approach got a little harder everyday I admit that . But my tone of voice isn't the issue at hand. His fish are damaged from his husbandry. I don't take it lightly to do something with somebody else's animals without their permission but I did it anyway . He knows now that if he won't do it right I will. This morning I got up and he's working on the tank so that's good but they need to move asap. I've never set up a big tank . And I need some guidance with it. My house is not on the verge of a fight happening over it because I think he figured out to stand down if he's not gonna do the work. This has been a long situation to get to this point. I'm drained.
  7. My oranda got her wen trimmed at the vet yesterday and I hope sharing her story may help other oranda owners. My Ladyfish s eyes were getting covered up and it was happening fast. She was swimming in the corner rubbing her face all weekend it was really sad. I found a vet that had never done it before but felt confident that he could. He did great. After a sleepless night before trying to decide how much of it to take off I decided to take the cautious route and just clear around her eyes and see how we all did with it. It was all of our first time . She showed no signs of discomfort after at all. She is back to herself no more corner swimming. I keep catching my family looking at her with big smiles. It was 120 for the visit and procedure. We'll worth it. It was the first time a fish has been treated at the vet office too. Everyone was happy to have the first one be thee most beautiful fish in the world. Happy zoo happy me.
  8. My oranda is getting her wen trimmed at the vet today it's the vets first time doing it and I'm so nervous. Is there any info that we may need . How much do we take off is it painful . Is it like skin or hair. it's covering her eyes so it has to be done. I wish I found this forum sooner. Any info on this would be helpful.
