  7. Never even thought of that, do you know the pros and cons?
  8. Does anyone know of someone who breeds or might have some snails for sale in the UK? I'm looking for blue and purple preferably as they're quite rare and really hard to find online/in shops since the import ban. Any help appreciated!
  9. Anyone got any good recommendations for sand substrate that is similar to Caribsea Crystal River?
  10. http://www.kokosgoldfish.invisionzone.com/forum/index.php?/topic/123692-rehome-2-ryukin-uk/#entry1961073
  11. So I have to rehome Luna and Albus somewhere in the UK obviously, so I thought I'd mention it here. Please check the buy/sell page I've posted more info.
  12. I'm happy to ship them, if you change your mind let me know
  13. I need to rehome my 2 Ryukin to someone in the UK, I really don't want to have to take them to my LFS and know I'm going to find a good home for them here; I would appreciate any offers. I'm having to make more space for my butterflies as I'm a little over stocked, which is a shame but as I'm planning on breeding them I need as much space as possible (so they can grow big and strong ) I can take more pictures if you ask. This is Luna, I don't 100% know she's a girl but she's never had breeding stars. I got her from Maidenhead Aquatics for £12 about a year ago. She has a small part of her tail fin missing from her injury when I first got her, but other than that she's healthy and really nice colours. And this is Albus, again, I don't know if he's a boy as never seen breeding stars. I bought him from Star Fisheries in Surrey for £80 in October. Really nice fish, does like to gulp at the surface but has never shown signs of bloat or been floaty. Loves to eat!
  14. This is so cute :') I wish mine would chase as I've got 2 boys one girl that I want to breed.
  15. Certain aquatic plants can be worth hundreds (or thousands) of dollars. Usually it has to do with their rarity in said country or their ease/speed of propagation. What's costly here in Australia isn't necessarily the case in the US or Europe and vice versa. Yes very true, after having a quick look it does seem like I would be able to purchase some for a decent price. Are there any other types that are similar? As it's quite a unique looking plant to me but then I know nothing about plants
  16. No, the crinum. OH That's even more wow as I didn't assume the plant would cost that much...haha I'll leave now
  17. Expensive too. They run a few hundred dollars here. Wow really?! A few hundred for the vase? The most expensive ones I've seen online in the UK are about £15 which is like $22!
  18. I love it Definitely, I'm sure it'll look amazing if you do then post some pics!
  19. .....Who's going to be the first to try it out then? In all seriousness though, I am interested in finding out what it can/can't do so if anyone does use..it let us know!!
  20. Thank you for the plant ideas I'll have a look online at them, with the space I have within the vase I still wanted to make a foreground, mid ground and background look so I need to have a good think about what will be best Hopefully I'm going on a big shop in the next few days to pick it all up. I'm excited as you can tell I've never planted before so fingers crossed
