  1. Great idea! I will have a chat with them next time I am in the store.
  2. Hi, if you think that you moor is suffering from white spot - its quite obvious on black fish. If unsure, google images of 'white spot or ich' and compare to your fish. In my experience, the 'heat and salt' method works better than any medication designed to cure white spot I have used. If you have begun treatment and follow on with it, your fish should recover with no problems. Pooping for goldfish is a good thing (except for your water quality!). And new goldies can take a few days to settle in, so the stress will subside. The salt will also help with the stress. If you have the time to fill in the form above, more experience people (than I) will be able to give you more specific advice if you need it. Good luck!
  3. Morning all, If any in Melbourne is looking for a new addition to their tank or pond - New Life Aquariums in Abbotsford has a great selection in at the moment. I'm hunting for a calico butterfly telescope (which they didn't have). However they had plenty of other beautiful fish - lovely black orandas, short tailed ryukin, lionheads and crowned pearlscales, just to name a few. I have seen this store recommended a few times on this forum (by Helen I think!) and its a great store, particularly at the moment. Worth a look! And if anyone knows where I can get a calico telescope - let me know! I have one spot left in my 4ft tank and I am holding out for one haha Have a great day JT
  4. Thank you for the reply. My first impression was that it seemed to be a fairly harsh method, but I just wanted more experienced opinions. Thanks again.
  5. Thank you for your response Lisa. I am currently doing the recommended treatment of Prazi and salt which has worked for me in the past. I was just wondering if anyone has experience with this method of peroxide dips out of curiosity... Ive read about it on various sites but nothing in detail or about people's experiences. Thanks
  6. Hi All, I've come across basic info on hydrogen peroxide dips for goldfish to treat flukes. Just wondering if anyone had any experience/advice? I'm struggling with a stubborn infestation! Thanks!
  7. Thank you that's really helpful!!
  8. Hey all, Was hoping Aussie people could help me out with dealing with an investation of flukes... I've got a 4ft goldies tank with 4 goldies, fully cycled. Even after quarantining my newest addition I was cursed with a terrible case of flukes. Been using Blue Planet Flukes and Tapeworm tabs every 5 days, salt at 1% for the first week, but just when I think I've got it sorted I see symptoms in my weakest fish. Just wondering what everyone's methods for treating flukes is? Thanks!!
