hey guys! long time no see! well my moore has what i figure is bacterial, hes fine but looks a mess :( . i have him in a diff tank as of now and i was wondering how much salt i should add to his water?

  2. yah the ph is always like that iv had ph ajusters but my dojo loach always acts funny wen i use it. i took a look at his gill and nothing i can see is in there its just swollen. and it seems to be getting worse. iv done water changes so i no longer have ammonia in my water, and i treated him with quick cure in case its a parisite but so far no change. his gills are the same coler ect just swollen and it dosnt seem to close at all now....

his gills look red and meaty.

  3. It also sounds like pop eye, could you measure you tank with a tape measure or something then I can tell you how many gals it is, I need the width height and length.

As for helping your fish, do a 50% water change (do you have water conditioner?)

And how often do you do water changes? Do you add anything to the water? And do you have any test kits?

  4. Its sounds like he has fin rot too, id step it up to a 40 to 50 % water change and add non iodized salt to the water. Do you have a heater because im sure it would help. Also if he is having a hard time finding food I tried cutting a cup in half and taped it to the side of the tank. and then bought pellet food witch floats, when feeding id place the pellets in the cup and then they wouldn?t float away as the cup is making a barrier for the food, but make sure you feed peas one a week if you do this because the pellet food often causes constipation I found.

  5. he seems to be a little stressed out and "jerks " and his left gill i swollen i cant see any marks or discoleration, he is also swimming a little sideways because of it. im thinking its a parisite .......

  6. exsactly! a betta should be kept in warmer water because they are a tropical fish and you cant heat a tank less than 5 gallons proberly so genraly 5 gallons is the tank size but also if you have a betta in too big of a tank or a comunity tank can stress them out, they also like calm water so filters arnt used often with betta were as every other fish its basicly a must.

  7. right on! 75 gal wow wut i would do with that eh! lo i have 2 30 gallons 1 20 gallon and a 15 gallon hospital. i really would love to get a BIG tank but i really cant afford to blow 300 -500 on just a tank right now :( silly student loans....sigh

  8. coler change is sooo comman in goldfish. esspecialy if you buy from a pet store ect. traits just tend to pop wen they age. and it is hard to say wen or how much your goldie will change if you dont know the breeding back ground.

my goldie the red and wite "oranda" (im going to call him that because i know he is a mix) was all red wen i bought him an as you can see he turned wite and some yellow in his wen.
