  1. Thankyou so much Lisa! I will read your thread! I must say im havving similar "where have you got to now?!?" issues
  2. Wiggles Eggbert is now 7 days old! You made it to a week little buddy! He is now showing a broader head, and the startings of a tail... bit hard to tell if its the butterfly tail yet! His little tummy is full but it distends out to his right side. Is this normal for his age? All his food arrived today! So he now has a tummy full of instant baby brine shrimp. He also has fry starter, spirlina powder, and first bites. Hopefully this is variety enough to give him a growth boost. And his annubias nana arrived to. Its different to all my others. It has a gold fleck through the leaf. I have questions though. I bought him the instant baby brine shrimp in a jar. I think the brand is Ocean Nutrition? Should this go in the fridge once opened? And how long is it usable once opened?
  3. Maybe ill have to become a fish psychologist and give him therapy... Is there anyone else raised a fry from egg alone?
  4. Just a thought... does anyone know if raising a fry on his own reduces his fishie interaction skills? Will he be socially inept when i put him with other fish one day?
  5. Today Wiggles Eggbert as hubby is calling him is 5 days old. He has eyes that move! He has pectoral fins! He has a swim bladder, poop dispensing capabilities and freckles! He has tonight had his daily 100% wc, prime and spot of methylene blue. He seems to prefer some of the only fry food they had at the local pet shop... it was in a little takeaway container so i have nooo idea what it is or what is in it ... so this is his dinner till his baby food arrives... he doesnt seem to eat the NLS TheraA+ I crushed for him. Hurry uuuup Mr Postman! Pleeeeease!
  6. Yes, apparently they were practicing oooooops!
  7. Thankyou Taryl! Today he is moving all about and i can see his tummy has food in it. I have scooped him out in a cup and cleaned his tank, fresh water with prime and methylene blue drop and a sprinkle of new food. Im giving him crushed New Life Spectrum Thera A+ pelets atm as im waiting for his baby food to arrive.... hurry up Mr Postman! One sprinkle involves dipping the tip of my little finger in the powder and whatever sticls is his sprinkle. Im doing this twice a day as to measure out food for just one meal for him is impossible. This way he has food avaliable 24/7 and he can find it easily. He is having 100% daily waterchanges and prime to help with water quality. Does this sound ok?
  8. Hi Mandy! Is just as well you is my fry raising mentor! Id be stumped otherwise! Hopefully his progress speeds up!
  9. Thankyou mikroll! Its going to be interesting!
  10. Yikes! My butterfly tellies spawned on the 12th! ? they laid lots of eggs but i only managed to save 25. They are still babies under 2inches Std length so i wasnt expecting this! The mum is Perdy the long finned tricolour butterfly tellie. The dads are either Jaffa the black butterfly tellie... Or Pumpkin the orange butterfly tellie. On the 13th I realised only one egg was fertilized so transfered it to a small tank with clean water and a slow airstone. I added a drop of methylene blue to the water to ward of fungus... and watched as he wiggled in his egg! He hatched on the 14th at 2.30pm. I got to see him hatch! Yay! So far so good. On the 15th and 16th he did very little. Moved only twice in that time. I added some powdered NLS Thera A+ and ordered him some fry food. Today is the 17th and he is moved a little more this afternoon. I dont know if he is eating or not yet, but after giving him a 50% WC tonight and adding a drop of methylene blue and prime again i gave him another dusting of powdered food. Ill see if I can find him some more appropriate food tomorrow while I wait for his food to be delivered. Here is him today! We will wait and see how he goes! He is my first ever goldfish fry and im both excited and scared...
  11. Thanks Taryl. It hasnt presented as normal popeye infection with a fluid build up. It kinda just looks like his eye has grown too big for the socket. Its been really really slow growing too. Im happy to leave him be if theres not much we can do and just make him as comfy as possible untill i think it is going to be causing him pain. Hes such a sweet baby.
  12. Heres Louies video! http://vid1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag52/Reesbucket/20170220_195827_zpsylwispby.mp4
  13. LOLOLOL Loooove the pun! Ill def "keep an eye on it" Thankyou so much Koko! <3
  14. Okies, these guys have had a week of epsom, followed by a back to back 200% wc. Louies eyes remain unchanged as far as i can see. Ill upload a louie video in the morning. It doesnt want to behave tonight.
  15. Ok, they have had a week of epsom and then a back to back 200% wc and three days just clean water. I dont think it has affected p0dges eye at all. The epsom did make everyone very swimmy and happy though! Heres todays photos and a video. The enlarged eye seems unchanged http://vid1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag52/Reesbucket/20170220_195746_zps2iyrzuoe.mp4
  16. Ok, i decided to treat the whole tank as QT tub space is difficult this week and ive noticed Bodgies eye is a little puffy too. So Ive done a 90 % WC and added 2.625 teaspoons of epsom per 400L which is 1/8th teaspoon per 5 gal. Ive also added prazi in again too, their last round. Ill take photos in a few days to monitor their progress, thankyou Koko!

  18. Cool! Thanks koko! Ill try QT with daily wc first and monitor amonia. I have no snails only goldies in the tank so if the QT doesnt work Ill epsom the tank. Thanks so much Koko! <3
  19. Just a quick thought, that will be two med fish in 10 gal, so ill have to watch the amonia. If it rises to fast will epsoming the whole 400L tank harm the others or the filter or my anubias?
  20. Okies, 10 gal is about 38L so I will add 1/4 teaspoon! Thankyou Koko!
  21. Cool ill epsom them tomorrow in a seperate QT. Thankyou Koko!
  22. Cool, ill set up a qt for them tomorrow. Is it half teaspoon per 40L of epsom?
