  1. Welcome to the site! I've used the rounded edged gravel in my tanks for decades without incident. Yes it is more work but this no gravel trend is something relatively new. This is my opinion of course and I am in no way suggesting what you should or shouldn't do. I personally enjoy seeing my fish in tanks with some decoration and substrate. I commend you for being honest about your apprehensions. I think If Fish aren't your passion then perhaps re-homing them would be best for all involved. Best of luck to you and your Fish in whatever it is you decide to do.
  2. So sorry for your loss. Tvilsen was very well loved and cared for all the days of her life. A lucky girl indeed.
  3. Oh one tip that worked great was putting the dosage of Kanaplex inside a gel cube. Getting your fish to eat it is optimal.
  4. I just treated my Oranda who looked like yours (although not quite as severe) with two antibiotics. My fish had all the symptoms of bacterial septicemia. There is also a viral septicemia which is deadly and highly contagious. I put my fish in a 10 gallon hospital tank that was pre-cycled, salted, extra aeration and ready to go. I treated with E-mycin and Kanaplex as directed. I'm not a Vet. Hopefully someone with more authority than I can better help you. My opinion though is you're dealing with the same illness. Best of luck to you!
  5. Thanks for the lovely welcome! I have plenty more pics but I didn't want to over do it.
  6. Thanks! I'll go have a look at the fish look a likes (if I can find them).
  7. Thank You! It's so exciting to watch them grow and change.
  8. Thanks! My ultimate Favorites are the Butterfly Telescopes with flat eyes and I'm on the search for a very special white and red one. I do Love All my Fancies though and I adore Koi too.
  9. I've been thinking about making a gel food with Algae in it, by crushing up algae disks in a mortar and pestle and then just adding it into one of my gel recipes. I'm thinking all ages of Goldfish could benefit from this food. I can't think of any contraindications.....anyone else? Cute Fry!!!
