  1. Wow nice fish. I only tend see a few Large Oranda in my area LPS never Ranchu.
  2. I can't remember where or who I got the idea from , but I works flawlessly . It's worth going to buy some in my opinion . I put the salt in a stocking and a little while later it's gone. I was boiling before this much easier. Thanks to whosever idea that was.
  3. All of those places have great fish. In my experience Eastcoat Ranchu offers the healthiest fish of the vendors I've tried.
  4. tThanks for your input. They seem to be ok as a secondary filter. There are a few videos on YouTube about them. I ve often wondered why something like this hasn't been available before with the technology we have access to. If I get one I'll let you know my findings.
  5. I Understand the usual problems with internal filters, but this thing claims to almost instantly control ammonia levels.
  6. Does anyone own one ,or have experiences to share?
  7. Those hydra 40 filters seem great . I wonder if anyone has used them.
  8. Thanks for the help and compliments. I remember reading something similar a while ago ,just can't remember where. Oh well I still like my fish as well. Again thanks.

  13. I've had this fish since it was a baby. It's always been this way, sometimes up and sometimes down. I've had several tanks and stocking levels since then. Now I have 75 gallon. with 4 ranchu and 1 oranda. Two of the ranchu were added this week. I have fluval fx6, and with the additional ranchu I added a fluval 106. I also have a 24 watt uv sterilizer. I try to get a vid and sheet filled out. I was just wondering if this was normal or not.
  14. Has anyone had an Oranda that can't seem to keep his dorsal up. I've seem some whose dorsal seem to be totally erect while others are not . Is it a muscle issues the can be helped with higher proteins?
  15. I have a few new additions. Hope all goes well .
  16. Thanks everyone for the nice comments.

  18. This is my first video. I plan on adding more after more practice
  19. 75 gallon marine land kit. Fluval fx6. The 6in lemon Ranchu is Goldust. The 4in lemon Oranda is Strawley . My daughter named him that when we got him because at the time he was tiny and all white. The 4in red and lemon Ranchu is O J short for orange juice. I have two snails so far in the tank . I have two to add next week after quarantine . Both Ranchu are from Eastcoastranchu . The Oranda was purchased locally . http://s1381.photobucket.com/user/2fancies2/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20150412_123017_zpswhqromcs.mp4.html?sort=3&o=0.http://s1381.photobucket.com/user/2fancies2/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20150412_123017_zpswhqromcs.mp4.html?sort=3&o=0
  20. Thanks for tips. I got it setup yesterday on my new 75. So far so good. I do have a few extra filters if needed. When my daughter saw the new set up she said , "wow it's looks like the real peoples tanks" (we watch YouTube videos together), lol.
  21. Is the FX6 adequate for a 75 gallon ? I'm getting different answers on flow rate 500+, or pump rate 900+ per hour. Anyone have one ?
  22. Thanks for reply and changing the title of the post.
  23. I meant to have tank upgrade in title. Sorry for confusion.
  24. I'm moving up in tank size. I've heard of people using existing filter media on new tanks. I was planning on moving everything into new setup, including water. If anyone has any tips I would greatly appreciate them. I'm worried about new tank not being cycled fast enough and causing stress to fish.
