  2. I squeeze my media in tank water about every 2 weeks-once a month. I did it about 2 weeks ago. What do I do now? Do you think it can have anything to do with my fish behavior? Thank you for your reply!!!

  4. Hi! So I've had my fish Malakas for about 2 years now. For the past week, he has been less active / bottom sitting. I don't see any other symptoms; he eats 2 to 3 small meals a day, doesn't show anything funny (wounds, spots, etc.) or any weird behaviors. Malakas used to live with another fish, who died unexpectedly. New plants have been introduced about 1-2 weeks ago, after being desinfected 2x. Thinking it would be flukes, I started treating him with Prazipro (just finished round yesterday), but no salt since I have live plants in there... The QT tank is already occupied by a little Oranda I've bought last week. Today, I saw something odd in the tank (if pictures aren't clear enough I can try shooting a video of it), it look like tiny filaments, I have never seem them before. I need help. * Ammonia Level(Tank) 0PPM * Nitrite Level(Tank) 0PPM * Nitrate level(Tank) 5PPM * Ammonia Level(Tap) 0PPM * Nitrite Level(Tap) 0PPM * Nitrate level(Tap) 0PPM * Ph Level, Tank (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) 8.0 * Ph Level, Tap (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) 8.0 Other Required Info:* Brand of test-kit used and whether strips or drops? No * Any medications added to the tank? Prazi * List entire medication/treatment history for fish and tank. Please include salt, Prazi, PP, etc and the approximate time and duration of treatment. These things are attached to one side on my tank, can they be related to my fish condition, do they look like new algae growth... I have no clue
  5. We have only 3 months of warm weather here But great idea!!
  6. So the faucet is male or female? they make adapters for both I believe http://www.amazon.com/Marina-Garden-Hose-Adapter-AquaVac/dp/B001B5GDGI http://www.amazon.com/Marina-Brass-Faucet-Adapter-AquaVac/dp/B0017JHUSS but mikey's method saves a good amount of water Thanks for finding this! But Mikey's method seems simple and I'm sure it will work for me
  7. I love this! Simple and cost effective, I think this is my best option!!! Thank you so much !!!
  8. The aerator does screw off, but then t's impossible to screw my water change on it: seems to be ''male threads'' I really appreciate all those who took time to answer and take pictures to help me.
  9. The piece itself With an ''adapting'' head My faucet doesn't have any ''screw'' in it ..
  10. Hello, I'm here to ask for help ... I have bought a Marina AquaVacc water changer a while ago : http://usa.hagen.com/Aquatic/Maintenance/Cleaning/11040 I thought it would work on pretty much any faucet, I tried it realized I was wrong. For a few years I have been using just the bucket ''method'' (If I can call it a method) but it is getting really tiring (plus I am planning to upgrade my 26 gallon to a 45 or 65 Gallon)...Which will require a water changer. I have tried hardware stores, asked for help (trying to find either an adaptor or a new faucet), went to my LPS, even visited a store specialized in plumbing supplies. Have anyone experienced similar issues, any idea of a solution I could try? Thanks in advance!
  11. I filled the tank to the top after taking this picture

  13. Recently planted tank and I know the tubing in here is horrible...
  14. Hello! I'm new here! Nice to meet you. I have a cycled tank, which has been this way for about 2 years (26 gallon, 1 fish) I brought home an Oranda yesterday and put him/her in a 10 gallon, I really don't want to contaminate my other fish in any way.. So I've done research on here and I need advice to make sure I'm doing this properly... Here is what I'm doing right now: -100% daily water change -Added cycled media from my main tank to the filter -0.1% salt, planning on going up to 0.2% or 0.3% (How long should I use salt for?) -Added Prazipro yesterday, and today after WC. (How many days in a row can I add prazi in? Do I give ''breaks'' to the treatment?) -Observing behavior, eating, poo...etc. Is there anything else I need to do? He is my setup right now... Thanks in advance !!!
  15. Here is my oranda. I got him/her today Going through QT process wish us well
