  1. I would definitely QT longer than 2 weeks with a prazi schedule 4-6 rounds and salt to a every 12 hour increase up to .03% . Illnesses can take several weeks to show up. I could be wrong here and im asking the Mods to slap me if I am lol As far as 3 GF in a 40.... if you are definitely going to upgrade in the very near future I think it would be ok...BUT you should be stricked and frequent on WC's. I did mine with 3 in a 40 every 3 days at least 50% but that was me and the needs of my tank
  2. Ok, I have another question as this is my first time dealing with ich... Should the tank light not be on at all? Or does it not matter?
  3. WOW!!!! Absolutely stunning! That is a great pond, and those fish are beautiful.. That huge calico is my favorite.. I watched the video like 4 times Congrats, you have done such a great job on that pond.
  4. Well so far they are still very active swimming and eating but looks like the ich may have gotten a little worse so I am hoping that this is only the first day and that it will take a few days to see improvement. I'm staying positive
  5. I can bleach them as I dont have any PP on hand. And I am going to bump up the heat. Thanks Lisa
  6. This might be a silly question and I know its only been a day, but does ICH always look worse before it starts getting better? The reason I ask is because the 5 fish look they the ich as spread more on them. They are all still actively swimming and eating. Tank temp is at 77F and salt is at .03%
  7. He will be in there by himself. I was afraid to put him in there because the media in there is from the main tank. But if you think it would be ok then I will do it. I also don't mind maintenance on every thing I have going on now. I have salt and heat going on in the 20 now. I am helping the seeding process by adding food to the tank. If the media is infested i was going to wait a month before adding sushi and just keeping him in QT 6 rounds prazi and .03%

  9. After a long day of craziness for me, I saw this and wanted to post. My son Brandon who is 7 is on the Autism spectrum with a delay in speech. He is my big helper and always watches me do water changes and feedings. He now has his own Calico Oranda named Sushi who is in QT. Sushi will then reside in a 20 gal tank in my sons room. He sat and watched his new best friend for over an hour and said to me. Mom I am so happy we have Sushi, I love him These fish not only teach him the importance of caring for them, but also calm him. Just seeing him laugh and giggle and talking to them have dramatically helped him with his learning skills, and he also draws pictures of them. My son knows and reminds me of when WC's are due lol he marks every three days on his calendar, it's something he has never been able to do before. He has the Prazi schedule for his gf and says mom we can't forget to do this and this on these days. It's just amazing to see and hear. I wish these GF could know how much they really mean to me and my son and how much they have helped him Here is Brandon and his Oranda Sushi
  10. Ahh yes. I ordered the wrong one before and never remembered to order the Furan-2.... Thanks for the reminder, I'm ordering it now
  11. At 80 F, the Ich in the plant tank should finish it's life cycle and die in a week without a fish host. But, I would leave them in there for 2 weeks while you salt the main tank to be safe. The main tank should remain at 0.3% salt for 2 weeks at 73 F or at least 10 days after the last white spot is gone. The Ich should start to improve in a few days, but watch the progress of the red spots and update the moderating team if it gets worse. This may need to be treated with the Kanaplex if the salt doesn't clear it. Ok sounds good... My other concern is that I am leaving the state next thursday and returning the flowing tuesday. I was planning on doing a huge WC the night before and fasting them while I was gone, but this was before all this happened. Should I just stick with the plan and keep the salt at .03% and heat?
  12. Thank you... When it hits the fan.. it really hits the fan with my fish... They like keeping me on my toes
  13. Ok.. W/C, and plants are QT's heater is set to 80F and .03% salt added at once in pantyhose to 75 gal tank for a total of 284g x 3.... That was a lot of salt So how long do I let the salt and heat go on for? And my husband came home from work saw my pantyhose inside the fish tank...said ummmm yeahhhh.... I'll be in the man cave if you need me
  14. I rather go faster to as I am also Wild LOL Can I just put the .03% right away or do it in faster intervals than 12 hours? Weigh or measure out the amount you'll need to bring the 75 up to 0.3%. If you have salt in there already, remember to only raise it as much as would be needed to go from 0.1% to 0.3% or whatever % they are at now. If no salt, add the full 0.3% into the toe portion of a nylon/pantyhose and toss it over the edge of the tank, letting it dissolve on it's own over several minutes. If you don't have any nylons, send hubby to the store for some. Nothing special--cheapest ones he can find. I often just get a box of 10 for like $2-3. I was going to do at least 6 rounds of prazi and .03% salt before I thought of adding him to the new tank. so several weeks. I add food in the new tank to keep the seeding going. I can keep doing it for as long as posible I have nylons LOL and I will be adding in .03% in there as there is nothing in right now. I am in the process of WC and QT'ing the plants

  16. I rather go faster to as I am also Wild LOL Can I just put the .03% right away or do it in faster intervals than 12 hours? Thank you Lisa.. This is crazy. The only thing I can possibly think of is that maybe the Bristlenose carried it in if that's even possible he was QT'd but idk if they show signs of ICH. he died today. I'm not telling the kids he died they picked him out OR... another possibility is the tank. It was used BUT I bleached the crap out of it. rinsed it out let it sit in the sun for several days and then rinsed it again until I had a flood in my yard..I didn't want to take chances of residue from the bleach I then added prime and rinsed again...idk

  20. The 2 juveniles are from Skipper and Citrus. The Blue Oranda was a rescue that I took in back in March (when I still had the 40breeder. he received a .03% salt with double dose of prazi for I believe 5 rounds in QT he was then added to 40.. My log book got soaked with water so I am going from memory. The pleco was QT for several weeks before adding he perished today..I'm not sure why i am assuming the parasites idk. The 7th fish is not part of this tank group. he is in his QT and then will be added to his own 20 gallon tank which i am seeding right now with my media...... ok so wait a minute does that mean the media in there could possibly be infected??? auhhhhh I only have 6 GF the 7 would have been the pleco
