  1. Thank you Lisa, I always end up blaming myself, I need to relax and realize not everything is in my control. I can tey and give them the best life possible but things will happen. He weighs 62g
  2. Thank you Sharon. I needed that boost of confidence. Im still pretty new at this and every time something goes wrong I attack myself. I try my hardest to keep them healthy, I just have to start realizing that not everything is in my control. I'll weight him when I get home to give exact amount for metromeds. I might need help on that. That week he was I believe 60g
  3. Maybe the glue i used on the plants. Its the loctite gel glue
  4. I don't think its metel i think its just another color of rock on it but i can double check when i get home. I did buy them at Petsmart in the fish department. I hope they didn't sell me anything harmful
  5. I am baffled at how these fish are getting so sick. I change water every 2-3 days 50% i rinse the AC 110 every 2 weeks. The canister i just put in, and its still clean. New plants were disinfected with bleach and water and then soaked in clean primed water twice before putting in.
  6. I knew something was up. Thank you, i am at work but will get him in QT as soon as i get home and try to get some good side snd top view shots
  7. He has a normal appetite. This all happened a day before my oranda passed. I sm working but will get him in a QT as soon as i get home. I have seachem metro and kana powder, furan2, Epsom salt, canning salt, melafix, snd metro meds and medi gold unopened from goldfish connection
  8. Oh thank you, Citrus was very graceful and sweet. Will miss her a ton. Skipper was her mated pair but I am not sure if GF realize when one is gone, but I could be wrong. And the volcano my son calls the "ring of fire" from the Finding Nemo movie.
  9. Thank you they do get their fair share of greens, and i give them peas at least 4 times a week. I do feed them lightly just a mouth full 3x a day. It could be that he is backed up. I just had my precious oranda pass away on me Sunday so I could just be a bit over paranoid
  10. Here is a video of his behavior. Sorry it's 5 min long but I wanted you to have a good look at everything including his respiratory while bottomsitting http://vid40.photobucket.com/albums/e235/cdionne77/20150908_224427_zpsyk1yitgk.mp4
  11. I took a video also. It's a 5 min video of his behavior. The thing is, whenever Skipper would see me he would come right to me. Now it looks like he tries to stay away from me. I would go to his side of the tank and he would move to the other side, so I would move to that side, and again he would move. Not like the fish that would come up to me no matter what side I was on and just look at me, and has been doing these cute silly things since the day I got him. He was always very very interactive with me. This is just very odd behavior for him. This is why I have a suspicious feeling he could very well be ill
  12. Skipper has always been a "lazy" fish were he likes to bottom sit from time to time. He has done that since I got him a year ago. But it has never been like this for 4 days not really moving other than eating and swimming to other side of tank to bottomsit. He also has been pooping normal that I can tell. He was resting near some poop this morning, but I'm not quite sure it is his. I haven't physically seen him poop today or yesterday as I was working all day, but my husband has said he just sits there and doesn't move much. So I am left with should I just keep observing? I don't want to medicate for no reason, but if could be a internal thing, do I wait...ahhh
  13. Full tank shot... Skipper is on the left, and that's pretty much were he will stay. If he moves it will just be to the other end and he will sit, but it's mostly there
  14. I have a pic of a full tank shot. I am just waiting for it to finally upload

Bottom sitting For the past 4 days Skipper has been just bottom sitting, he will come out of the corner when being fed, but after that he will just sit at the bottom. I started a maintenance round of prazi (no salt) just to be on the safe side. He shows no other signs of being ill other than bottomsitting. I am wondering if it could be something internal. All other 3 fish in tank are active and doing fine. Could I just be paranoid? After loosing Citrus I don't want to take any chances.
  16. Oh we must have pics!! They sound so cute. I sm sorry you ended up with sea monkeys. Where did u get the shrimp eggs from?
  17. Im sorry you had some set backs, but when its finished you will be able to sit back and enjoy the fruits of your hard labor. It's coming out great!! Can't wait to see the end result
  18. If you have existing etablished media, put that on the second tray from the bottom, then new media on rest of the trays on top. This will seed the rest of the new media with all the good BB's
  19. I have on the bottom tray a coarse medium and fine filter. You can have coarse and fine if thats what you have. Then rest of trays are filled with nothing but media and no filters. You dont want filters with media because it will just trap any gunk to your media defeating the purpose. I have found this method to work extremely well
  20. Awesome, same idea so it should do the trick. One thing I had was one of those outside thermometers that had in indoor base so you see the temp at all times from inside the house. I had the thermometer in the greenhouse. It was great for me especially when I didn't want to drag my butt out in the cold and snow to check on the temp
