  1. I have seen a 75 complete set up with tank wood cabinet and light for $499 at Petsmart. Have you tried Craigslist. I just got a 75 with wood cabinet and canopy and $200 led light for $300. You could check there also as they have good finds.
  2. Also it could be a food domanannce thing since it happens when broccoli is in there ll. My fish push and shove sometimes to get to food. It happens im hoping someone else will chime in with a better way to address this as am no expert
  3. When I had a bully problem I floated a plastic colander in the tank and put the bully in there. It worked and the other fish got a much needed rest. But if you think the bullying is not that bad and no one is getting injuries you can observe them for now.
  4. Love it and love the painted bottom. I can't believe how teeny tiny your GF look in that tank lol
  5. I am so excited!! Chelsea will be making one of Skipper for me...
  6. Thank you! and your son has great taste She's over 100g now.
  7. I have not noticed anything yet I only give broccoli maybe once a month if that. They usually get cucumber and spinach but I was out. Good to know though about the floatiness thanks
  8. Funny thing is, they don't know it's good for them Citrus on the other hand could care less about proper nutrition. She doesn't like her veggies http://vid40.photobucket.com/albums/e235/cdionne77/20150808_175153_zpsl0z09vun.mp4
  9. You have no idea how relieved I feel now!! Thank you Chelsea
  10. Oh I didn't know I could fast them for a week. The most I have ever done was 3 days. That is definitely a great option then. Thanks
  11. I was doing the same thing when I was testing it out. I have a mixture of different size pellets in their so the consistency is different every time. Hopefully I can get the control of food down pat before leaving, like trying different size pellets to see what works best..... Thanks for your in put, at least I know it worked for you and I am feeling better about leaving them
  12. So I am going on vacation the end of August for a week and I have no one who I feel is reliable enough to feed my fish. So I went on line and did some research and also went on YouTube to see some reviews. I came across the Eheim everyday fish feeder. I bought it on Amazon got it in yesterday and will be testing it out for a week to see how it goes. Anyone use this product? What does everyone else use that works well for them? I am so nervous about going away and leaving my fish alone My family can't possibly do it as they live an hour away. And my neighbors I don't know well enough to allow them in my house and trust them to feed my babies.
  13. Thanks so much! I feel super lucky to have been there at the exact right time. There was a little girl yelling at her mom to buy her the "pretty white fish with the broken back" (Apparently her other SIX goldfish had just died, all apparently in a 25 gallon) and I kinda just snuck in there, and told the guys to get me the net. I feel only sliiiightly bad for practically stealing him from her. Thank Goodness you saved him from Darla That was exactly who I was thinking of when she said the little girl and 6 dead fish
  14. Thanks so much! I feel super lucky to have been there at the exact right time. I feel only sliiiightly bad for practically stealing him from her. Well you did the fish a favor considering she had 6 fish in a 25 gallon I'm a little bit worried. When I went to do my water change today there was a lot of weird chalky/fuzzy white stuff all over the bottom of the tank, and somewhat on the fishie-kun. I did a complete water change, but this time I didn't add any elixirs. I am hoping that it wasn't any of the stuff I put in to help him/her out. I re-cleaned everything in boiling water too. :\ I hope it's enough. The water he/she is in now is so pure that scientists come from all over California to get it for usage in tests. Should I still add Stress Coat? I'm thinking the chalky whiteish stuff/fuzz is just from the crap tap water I put him in initially. I feel bad for the little girl. She is just ignorant. I told her a little bit, but I didn't want to come off as condescending to her. She seemed intelligent enough that as she grows with the hobby(if she does) she will get good information, and be a better owner. I hope that's the case anyway. That's what happened with me. When I was around 13 I had three good-sized goldfish in a 30G together. They were about 5inches long. I didn't even know water changes were a thing. Dang, are common goldfish hardy. Comet (my Comet) is still alive today, 12 years later. I have no idea what that white fuzzy stuff could be....Maybe residue...glad it's pristine now . I'm glad you got to talk to the girl a little bit about fish care, hopefully she will think about what you said in the future

  16. One of my piano students is taking them. I'm giving her my old 29 gallon with filters, etc, too. she has been taking very good care of the class goldfish from her school this summer, so I am confident she will be a good caregiver for these two once that fish goes back to the school. She visits them every week after her lesson and is very excited about adopting them Awesome!! I am glad they found a great home! And they will be in great hands because she can always ask you questions about their care
