  1. Such a tiny little baby!!! The colour is lovely. Looking forward to seeing he/she grow! ????
  2. It's not fluffy like fungus. It doesn't come off very easy. I think I would really have to scratch at it. It's white in the creases of the wen aswell but that isn't fluffy or raised.
  3. Thanks so much for your welcomes!! He was cute when he was a tri. He had a little moustache. But I love him more now! I feel really guilty because I have never given them names!!!! Any ideas?

  8. Hi Helen, She came from a 65 gallon where I have 4 fish including my red cap. I have 1 other oranda and 2 butterfly. No fish have been newly added. This tank has been running for a over a year. The tank gets 2 water changes a week. One 50% and another 80%. Ammonia and nitrite are 0 and only a little bit of nitrate is present. All of these fish have no signs of fungus or any other illness. I removed my red cap when I first noticed the marks on her wen. She is in a 15 gallon by herself. I do water changes every other day to make sure her water is clean. The filter media I used in this tank I took from my cycled canister filter from my main tank. Last water test ammonia and nitrite where 0. And again a very little amount nitrate but I think this is because I do water changes every other day and she is on her on. PH is 7.5. Her behaviour is normal. She is very active and has a good appetite. There is no sign of any fungus anywhere else on her body or fins. There is no fraying or blood streaks. I have been using water life protozin ( for white spot and fungus). All my fish get a diet of Newlife spectrum, frozen blood worms and peas. For some reason I can't seem to be able to add photos. Do you have a Facebook book page for kokos I could maybe post them in?
  9. Hi, I wonder if anybody can help me. My red cap oranda which I have had for just over a year has developed some white patches on her wen. It developed very slowly and looked harder then fungus. I have had her in quarantine for around 2months. I have been treating for fungus and keeping her water very clean with water changes. She is lovely and active with a good apatite. Her wen hasn't got any worse but no better either. Could it just be new wen growth forming. I have heard this can happen to orandas and can be mistaken for fungus. Thanks guys
