  2. Hey, I am pretty sure my tri butterfly is female. A couple of the other butterflies are chasing her around the tank. I have not seen any breeding stars on these fish but looking at their vents i think they might be male. Its been going on for 2 days now. Do you think its spawning behaivour or bullying? I only put all the butterflies together on saturday. I have added a mop just incase. Let me no what you think. Thanks guys http://vid48.photobucket.com/albums/f204/jesbaxter1/IMG_0627_zpsrygjm7oi.mp4
  3. Abit better but still abit mopey. Do you think time will help doing this routine? With out the salt? Well my first step is clean water hun....Then I want to look at the fish..... Tomorrow after your Prime...Do a 100% water change and use prime... Then lets look at the Gills, and a shot of the fish from the top and from the butt going to the nose Thanks for all your advice He does seem to be doing better being in the QT so I am just going to see how he does the next couple of days. If he stays the same or gets worse again I will repost in this topic. Thanks again Do you think a fluke treatment may help? I havnt done one on these fish yet?
  4. or is 'wormer plus' a better option? what are your opinions?

  9. I have been using stress coat for a few months now. I don't have prime but i can get hold of it from the internet. could this be whats causing the bottom sitting periods? But its only the one fish? Well that the first place I would go for now hun... Some fish are more sensitive than others, just like Humans hun...I would order Prime... If you can look in the gills and tell me the color of them or if you can a photo Thanks for helping meI have just orderd prime off amazon. It won't be here for about a week though Is there anything I can do in the mean time to help? Ok I noticed that he is now gasping at the surfsce!!!!! I don't no what todo I can't get hold of any other water conditioner until 2moro? Ok do we have a QT tank hun? You said your tap has slight Nitrites in there right? Do you have Aquatic salt? Also a Free filter for the QT tank? I have a large tub I have set the fish up in with an airstone. I found some left over Aqua safe a had a few months ago. So I have used that instead of the API. I don't have a spare cycled filter :/ I was going to do large water changes everyday. I have salt

  15. Hey i need help!! One of my butterflies seems to be very lazy. I have had him for a little while now (6-8months) and he/she has always been like this, but the last few weeks its got worse. Im not sure what i can do. It seems to either sit on the bottom or hang out at the top long periods of time. He/she isn't breathing at an unusual rate or gasping at the surface. The other fish are completely normal and don't this. At first i thought maybe it was because of the tail shape these fish have. Because of the shape it must take more effort to swim then my Orandas, causing the fish to have rest periods. But now I'm thinking its not that at all. Its behaving like its bored :/ But i think its something medical now. There don't seem to be any other issues. no fungus, no loss of appetite or rapid breathing. I have filled out the question sheet below. Thankyou Test Results for the Following: * Ammonia Level(Tank) 0 * Nitrite Level(Tank) 0 * Nitrate level(Tank) 0 * Ammonia Level(Tap) * Nitrite Level(Tap) * Nitrate level(Tap) * Ph Level, Tank (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) 7.5 * Ph Level, Tap (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) Other Required Info: * Brand of test-kit used and whether strips or drops? 19. Hi Liz, No these are butterflies I have had for a long time. Properly about 8 months or so. They have always done this ever since I have got them. My little new little ones are in a different tank which is there perm home as they are the only fish in that tank. They are very active but as they are young their tails are not as developed as my older ones. Both sets of butterflies are from star. Can I ask where u got yours from?
  20. Hey guys, I might be mad but does anybody else find there butterflies are lazy? I have orandas and butterflies in my tank. I find that my butterflies have sort of rest periods and my orandas don't. They will sit on the bottom for about 5-10mins and then get up and swim around again. Could it be their tail shape being larger making more drag in the water when they swim so they need little rests? Has anybody else noticed this? Thanks guys
  21. Lovely fish! His fins are beautiful. Congrats on your engagement, enjoy the planning!
  22. Hi guys, Here is a video of the trio to go withe the photos i posted! Hope you like them!
  23. Hi guys, I have finally got round to showing you my new babies in their tank. I took delivery of them star about a week ago. I did an unboxing video of 2 of them. I received one of the red and whites (the one with more red and longer fins) a week before that. They seem to be doing well so far. These are the fish i would love to breed when they are old enough. Just for my own enjoyment. Not for suppling. At the moment they are only about 5 months old according to star. The one withe the longer fins and more red on the head is a male as already has breeding stars on his gill plate. I dont no if you can tell in the pics. Im not sure about the other 2. Thanks for looking! http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f204/jesbaxter1/imagejpg1_zpse6e4d9bd.jpg~original http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f204/jesbaxter1/imagejpg2_zpsa28301b5.jpg~original http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f204/jesbaxter1/imagejpg1_zpsfed75eb1.jpg~original
