1. Thank you so much. I agree, but I hope she grows as big as the others really soon
2. Hahaha. Manuals are overrated anyways..Wish I had a man to show me how to use that camera. I think i have used it less than 10 times in 5 years. Hopeless My ryukin had a teeny hump when I got her. Suddenly one day it just showed up. Hope yours will get a nice hump too This was her 4 months ago:
3. The fishies says thank you everybody! I'm glad you like the pictures. Seems like the ryukin is the favorite. She was a lucky find at my lfs. The selection of goldfish is not exactly great where I live. I will try to get a full tank shot, but I can't seem to find the right settings for the camera, so the pictures turns out really bad Guess I need to read the manual for the camera I bought 5 years ago
4. A couple of weeks ago I rehomed two of my fish to a lady with a 9000l pond, and I promised myself that I would wait for the perfect oranda to show up before I bought any more fish.. But a few weeks later the pet store got a bunch crowned pealscales, and I couldn't resist.. So I had to bring two of them home So here's my new crew, a ryukin, a telescope and two crowned pealscales (well, can't really tell if the white one even has a wen, so I'm not sure about that one). AND I heard you guys like pics : My biggest fish, at 93g. At first I was unsure if she really was a ryukin. Now I'm pretty sure she is ">https:// ">https:// TS. My favorite. He's a weird looking fish. Bought him as a panda, now he's turning orange. I hope he at least keeps some go his white color. He's 86g now. ">https:// ">https:// ">https:// The most unphotogenic fish in the world. He's really cute irl. Recently he has gained some black color. Hope it stays! Weighs in at 19g. ">https:// And my tiniest little baby. She was about the same size as the orange one when I bought them, but she stopped eating for a few weeks and stopped growing. Thankfully she has gained her appetite, so I hope she will start to grow too. She's only 6g now ">https:// ">https:// Bonus: ">https:// ">https:// And I'm sorry fore the HUGE pictures, I don't know how to resize them
5. Just a quick update, as I forgot to give you guys one when this all went down (and thank you so much for the answers!! ) I still don't know what happened but the fish was fine the day after, and has been ever since. And both the tap water and the tank water was fine. So I guess it was some kind of poisoning caused by me not rinsing the filter media before using it. Thankfully 4 of 5 fish survived and they are still going strong
6. Sorry for the strange question. I feel like the crazy fish lady who worries too much I just noticed that some of the goldfish poop is floating, and was wondering if thats normal. It just happens now and then, but is so visible now that the goldfish are bigger. The color is normal and most of the poop is sinking. I feed them sinking food only, and I soak the food before I feed them. I feed them NSL pellets, hikari pellets, gel food, greens such as spinach and peas, JBL novotab/novofect, earth worm sticks and blood worms. The water parameters is fine and the filtration is good. The fish are heathy and eats well too.
7. Thanks you guys Unfortunately I noticed that most of my tests went out of date a while ago, so I can't get the ammonia level and the tap level until monday. Also, the water parameters has been fine for many years, so I haven't really needed the tests either. And the tank might be a bit overstocked, but as Mickey says, I have done a lot of maintenance every week. I do big water changes every week and the filtration was plenty. That's also the reason why I decided to get the new filter, as it in theory should be good for a 600L tank. Actually, the problem occurred when I got the new canister filter. Overnight. It has been as heavily stocked since october or so. Yesterday I did two big water changes and the fish seems fine now. They are swimming around like nothing happened. Thankfully I only lost one, but of course it had to be my favorite blue oranda.. If they start acting weird again I will put up a video. But for now I think I'm just gonna keep up with daily water changes for a while and keep an eye on the parameters when I get the tests.
8. Thank you. No. I didn't rinse anything. I took the filter media from the old filter, so I thought it wasn't necessary to rinse that. And I never rinsed sponges before using them before.. So maybe that's the reason why the fish died Test Results for the Following: * Ammonia Level(Tank) * Nitrite Level(Tank) >0,3 * Nitrate level(Tank) 15 * Ammonia Level(Tap) * Nitrite Level(Tap) 0 * Nitrate level(Tap) * Ph Level, Tank (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) 7,2 * Ph Level, Tap (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) Other Required Info: * Brand of test-kit used and whether strips or drops? Bloody streaks today, after the poisoning. * Any unusual behavior like staying at the bottom, not eating, etc.? Gulping air. One go them is a bit floaty. The others seems ok
9. Yesterday I got a new canister filter in my 200L. Before I had 3 internal filters, but I wanted to switch them into a big canister filter, so I got a am top 3338. The three internal filters have been running for several years, so I left two of them in the tank. The third one I used to kickstart the canister filter, I took out the filter media and put it inside the new filter. And I thought that would be fine since I had the two other ones. Apparently not.. I woke up to my 5 goldfish gulping air in the surface. One of them died a few minutes later, and another one is struggling. I did a big water change and got a air stone in addition to the two internal filters and the canister filter. So I guess I messed up the cycle and had nitrite or ammonia poisoning. I'm going to do daily water changes for a few weeks. What else can I do to make the situation better?
10. Thank you guys! And yes.. I do like posting pictures.. A lot of them
11. Here is some pics of my five goldfish I've had the orange telescope for about 8 months and the ryukin (or fantail or whatever he is) I got a month ago. TS: This one was labeled as a ryukin, but do you think he is a fantail, ryukin or veiltail? I'm unsure. Orson, my baby Pete, who's actually a girl.. Last but not least, my biggest and oldest

13. I have 2 male goldfish and 2 female. So.. This morning when I left for work my goldfish was spawning. And when I came home one of the girls was missing A LOT of scales. file:///Users/sarapham/Pictures/10389224_10154947600875581_8655457587525457645_n.jpg None of the fish has ever looked so bad after breeding before.. And unfortunately I don't have a spare tank, and I won't be able to get one either to QT her. I'm scared the wound won't heal by its self. I do a 50-70% water change two times a week, the parameters are fine and I have good filtration. What can I do to make her recovery as fast as possible?
