  1. Thank you guys, I will go to my LFS again to see what it looks like in real life
  2. Thank you guys. By far my ryukin and comet are the most aggressive residents . BTW I'm looking for a new sand colour for my tank. What do you guys think ?
  3. Thank you, you are right gel food for fish is not available in Viet Nam. The Vietnamese green peas do well for my oranda, they are somehow pose the same role of green peas which help fish with SBD. I'm going to try some other food. Mine goldfish do the same things but I don't know if this can cause SBD because whenever they see me they would come to the surface and gulp a lot, or when they see me holding the goldfish food can.
  4. Thank you. I'm thinking about switching from white to Seachem Onix Sand , which is dark grey. DO you have any experience with dark sand in the tank ?
  5. Hi guys. Recently, my oranda and ryukin have started surface gulping after I feed them pellets, also the oranda started to display signs of SBD, whenever I feed him pellets he would start floating afterwards, he can swim down but would float again if he stops swimming, this doesn't happen if I feed them peas. I'm using Sera Goldy Spirulina and Ocean Free Natural Growth for goldfish. Both are floating type so I soaked and made them sink before feeding my goldfish. I don't know how this happen because I always avoid feeding them at the surface. Please help.
  6. So, to celebrate the success of tank cycling, I decided to rearranged some of the stuff in my tank to make it looks more neat. Here are the pics hope you guys like it. Close up of the airline tubing and bubble wand: Have a good day.
  7. Hi guys, so I'm planning to get the Seachem Onix Sand for my tank. Here is the link: http://www.seachem.com/Products/product_pages/OnyxSand.html My LFS said that it's a mix between sand and fertilizer so it can be used in both planted and non-planted tank. The thing is it will raise the PH a little and I don't know if it will looks good in my tank with black background. So I just want to know your opinions and if you happen to use it can you send me some pics or video, that would be great. I have searched on Google but I haven't seen one with goldfish.
  8. beautiful. How big is it and what kind of plants are they. I want to get some live plants and put in my tank. Are they easy to take care of ? thank you, it's a 126 gallon and the plants are anubias on driftwood . there are several ways to take care & clean your plants, head over to the planted tank section for tips on how this is done, i have a video on how to bleach clean your plants every so often. that may help if you choose the bare bottom look (which you have not), so you will need to follow ideas from members who clean their plants that are planted into the substrate Thank you :3
  9. Yah I want to try anubias but I don't want to use fertilizer, I'm reading some threads about it. BTW do your goldfish come to the surface when they see you near the tank. Yes, they dont care much about it, and the dust is much less than a month ago. Thanks, as long as it doesn't harm my fish, I'm ok with it. BTW, do you guys use sponge filters for ur tank or for QT only ?

  11. Thank you Helen, btw you did mention aquarium lid in your last comment, do goldfish tank needs lid ? yes and no, i guess it depends where the tank is situated and if house members are aerosole spray happy. e.g. i have my tanks in the kitchen, i have lids on my tanks because fine oil floats in the air and deposits wherever it wants to. when i had my tanks in a different room, they were subject to collecting dust or at risk of the automatic air freshener settling on the surface of the water. so i have lids on mine. (guests with young children was the main reason why i chose to have lids on my tanks.. lol ) others have lids on theirs as they have pets that may bother the fish or children who might disturb/overfeed them etc.. there are various reasons why you may need a lid on your tank(s) Then I think I don't actually need one . Is yours sand bottom, gravel or bare ?
  12. Thank you Helen, btw you did mention aquarium lid in your last comment, do goldfish tank needs lid ? I think you are right, I might not clean the sand well enough so I notice that whenever my fish forage through the sand , the tiny white dust start floating around. Can I do anything to completely get rid of them. I have pool sand.Just rinsing. That's all you can do. I rinsed mine forever and it was still cloudy. So do I have to take the sand out and rinse again ?

  14. The last time I did a water change was 4 days ago, I'm sure it's in the water because it floating and some getting sucked by my filter. My tank doesn't have a lid and I didn't add any medical powder or coral. Yes I finished my fish in cycle 4 days ago. No I don't
  15. I am addicted to buying stuffs for my tank like media, filters , air pump, sponge ... Omg I should stop.
  16. Nope I didnt do any wc , but I notice that the white dust appeared when my fish foraging through the sand. It is strange because I rinsed the sand before putting it in. My aquarium doesn't have a lid so is it possible that the dust get into the tank
  17. it happened recently, my tank has just been cycled for 4 days.
  18. Ah nope they are not algae they float in the water
  19. So recently I notice that my tank water is filled with tiny white dust. My tank has just been cycled, tested Ammonia: 0 Nitrite: 0 PH: 7.5 : I have sand bottom but the thing is I added sand to my tank a month ago and I rinsed it well. I have waited days for this to settle down but it doesn't. Have you guys ever faced this before ?
  20. OK, but his face is so cute
  21. My first GF lived in a bowl for years. Eventually I found Koko's and made things right. Many of us have been in your situation. I completely agree with Alex's very wise words. What's done is done. You made things right and will continue to give your fish the best care. What more could they ask? Thanks. BTW, do goldfish like being touched ? I want to pet my oranda's wen, he is so cute :3.

But if they could they would use it to buy all the food lol.
