  1. Yea, been doing 2 WCs per day. Had to leave the house today so only did 1, and this is what happened =( Right now he is just laying on his side. I don't think theres a C shape
  2. For pH its around 7.6-8.0, with Nitrate is defintiely not 0, but definitely not at the next level yet. Metro medicine came with a little spoon, it said to do 1 - 2 spoon per 10 gallon. My QT tank isn't filled up all the way, so I just used 1 spoon

  4. This afternoon, I noticed that one of my fish was not eating when I fed the other fish. He's been quite lethargic the last couple of days but he swims pretty normally and eats normally. SO here are pics of him this afternoon. I thought I caught him early since today was the first day I noticed the pineconing. I put him in QT right away but made the mistake of using regular salt. So I ran out and got him some Metronidazole and did a WC. I put in 1/4 of Epsom salt this time and 1 measure of the medicine, and also used slightly warmer water, now he is tilting to the side, barely breathing. If i correct him, he will swim for a little bit and go back to sideways position. His pineconing has gotten a little worse too. I know this looks pretty bad.
  5. So my question is, does it work? I have two orange oranda's I would like to be a bit more redder. And I am also losing the yellow on the lemon head's head. I just bought a bag of Saki Hikari Purple after reading that it brings out the red in fish. Is it true? Also, I have a brown oranda that I hope hope hope does not turn into an orange one, should I avoid feeding him this food? Also, will this food affect the white color on my Ryukin? I hope to hear feedfack from those of you who have experience with this, thanks.
  6. Petsmart no longer carry Hikari goldfish brand in-store, that's what I have been told by their employees.
  7. It is really hard to spot the spots this morning. Going to do a water change in a bit.
  8. Since this tank is cycling, I have not started treatment yet. I took the Tele out and put him back in QT. These guys are now on 0.1% salt and daily water change.
  9. Mine looks like that, except on tip of fins, on both fish.
  10. Lisa, do you mind sharing your photos in here so I can compare?
  11. Lisa, Thanks for your post, I feel slightly better (panicking earlier). This symptom reminds me of something else (wiped out a lot in my parents' tank) but I didn't bring it up because dnalex has asked me to give only description and symptoms and not what I think it is. This really came out of nowhere. I have been quarantining the other fish (calico tele) for awhile now and he hasn't shown any signs of any disease. He was also treated with salt and prazi pro. I am kind of kicking myself right now because I should have just left the other fish in QT until I take him to my parents' later this week (they have a tank for teles). I will definitely keep watch and update thread in case it spreads. Thanks again.
  12. Just today. I just did a 30% water change and added salt to the tank (using hose)
  13. I tried, but they wont stop moving and its really small (only 1-2 so far found on these fish).
  14. Tried my best to get another pic, but theres total about 3 grains of salt so on each fish, its really difficult to see.
  15. API drops * Water temperature? ~68 * Tank size (how many gals.) and how long has it been running? 75 * What is the name and "size of the filter"(s)? Aquaclear 70 and Aquatech 30-60 * How often do you change the water and how much? Daily 75% (tank still cycling) * How many days ago was the last water change and how much did you change? Yesteday * How many fish in the tank and their size? 7 * What kind of water additives or conditioners? PRIME * What do you feed your fish and how often? HL, NLS twice a day * Any new fish added to the tank? Fish that has been quarantined for ~ 2 weeks * Any medications added to the tank? See grains of salt on two fish's fins. * Any unusual behavior like staying at the bottom, not eating, etc.? 16. QT is a 10g small tank I got on sale at Petco. I usually take all of the water out and add new water (once a day).
  17. I will do. But for now, the tiny bubbles on the bottom shouldnt be harmful right? If so, I will need to take him out right away.
  18. So I have been using the salt treatment for the quarantine tank and the new fish I got. Everytime I take him out when i do a water change on the tank so i can add salt properly. I usually wait 30 minutes or more before i put him back in but there always still seem to be little bubbles or maybe undissolved salt on the bottom. When i wipe my hand on it its gone. When I put the little guy back in, he always seems to swim along the bottom and side and his mouth is moving. Im worried that those little bubbles are undesolved salt and could cause him harm. What should I do?
  19. Beautiful fish and absolutely great job taking care of them. Hope to learn a thing or two from you because I have quite a few orandas too
