  1. I figured that with three fish with some much water and old media would equal low risk, as well as having plants. I monitored my levels daily and it was a smooth transition. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Here is Simon, the guy who won't let me take pictures Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -Josue
  3. Here is some pics. I did them on my phone, while my dog was trying to get affection so excuse the quality. I have my red/black moor, my red cap, and a red ryukin cycle this tank. I had to move the tank to the garage (man cave) and in the move I decided to cut the left "rock." I now regret that cut, but oh well. But it kind of reminds me now of some Asian wood block prints I have seen. I plan on getting more plants and bring my nicer fish down (I recently relocated). As well getting a driftwood piece or two. Currently I have a 405 canister, a clear HOB (growing duckweed) and a jebo internal filter for filtration. I also have 2 300 watt heaters, and 3 pendant lamps each outputting 800 lumens (I plan to add one more). I want find a more cooler (color) bulb, I think these bulbs are too yellow. The fake rock was very easy to cut, I simply used a small and a large hacksaw. I then secured the rocks in their positions with small dabs of aquarium clear silicone. The best way to cut was simply visualizing a intersecting plane where I wanted to make the cut, mark them with marker and cut. Once I cut I would mock them in the tank and trim the pieces as needed. I enjoy that I also get to enjoy viewing the fish from top. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -Josue
  4. Also, I still haven't brought down my ranchus and my big calico ryukin are still up north. I am bringing them down on MLK weekend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -Josue
  5. I got the lamps set up, pics will be taken tonight. Although I was planning on a reveal once I got my plants to settle in and grow out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -Josue
  6. My 125 I used 50 lbs of sand, it looks fine. But I am going to get some more (about 25 to 50) so my plants can spread their roots. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -Josue
  7. How tall is your tank? My big tank is about 24" the HOB pushes some duckweed down (when I put some in for the goldies) but it doesn't really put it in my canister's intake. Also I have my HOB filled with duckweed and have adjusted the inflow to the lowest to try to keep the water movement low. But for the most part, my duckweed floats. 8. Still cycling, and I want to add some lighting for better pics, as well as some more plants. I plan on doing the lighting this weekend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -Josue

  10. I caught my daughter's cat ripping apart a algae wafer bag once. Now I make sure it's in a safe place. My dog would love to get his paws on the fish food. He smells the air when I open the container, and looks at me like "daddy, can I have some?" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -Josue
  11. I got the duckweed growing in a HOB, I was trying to grow it in a 5 gallon bucket with w/c water in it. But I think it's too cold outside. I am going to still feed it dirty water but the stuff in the HOB is doing much better. I want to get my hands on the "giant" duckweed. My Goldies love the duckweed, it's gone in seconds. 12. Lol, my throat , its so scratchy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -Josue
  13. I did a major w/c on the tank I am cycling, and I wanted to get that last bit but broke the water seal. To restart it, I couldn't get the water to go over the crest with the hand pump, so I put my mouth on it and ended up swallowing a mouthful. Now, I am not a germaphobe but am I worrying needless that I am got a mouthful of sand and dirty tank water? Anyone want to share a similar experience? Didn't know where to post this. moderators move it you want to. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -Josue
