  1. Okay I will call a few more places tomorrow. Thanks
  2. I wasn't able to find the tetra parasite guard . The man at the store sold me tetra lifeguard -all in one treatment. Is this something that will benefit the fish or should I get something else?
  3. Thank Alex and yes, I will go by petco tomorrow to look for it.
  4. Thanks Steve. I can't get through my sorrow and guilt. Every time I see the tank I get emotional all over again. I miss him,he was beautiful and everyone who saw it was mesmerized with its beauty.

He used to share the tank with 3 Goldie's and a pleco. His lip seems to be peeling perhaps from moving rocks around.
  6. Hi everyone I am grateful for your support. I treated the big fish with Melafix yesterday and today and looks better but all three are still being picky eaters. I was so worried about the big fish aging and dying and I didn't see the unexpected coming....The oranda passed away this afternoon. My whole world has seized in this difficult moment. I feel guilty for its passing. I monitored my fish throughout the night to make sure they were ok. I was exhausted in the morning after being up throughout the night. I took a nap and when I woke up I went to check the emergency tank and the oranda had managed to knock over the tube that produces bubbles . This kept its oxygen flow in the tank I had it was wrapped around the thermometer. It loved the bubbles and enjoyed playing over them. His playfulness ended up causing its life. Without the bubbles giving it the oxygen, it died. I feel terrible!!! I found it with its mouth open and I just can't get over this guilt and sadness. I should have been awake. If I had, he would still be alive because I would have seen the problem and helped him on time. I cant stop thinking that it's my fault for taking him out of the tank to place him in the emergency tank. I thought he had ich so I was trying to do what's best for him and the others. Maybe he would still be with me rather than buried in my back yard if I wouldn't have transferred him to the emergency tank. I'm soooo devastated!! Can't get past this!
  7. All my fish are starting to get picky on their flakes after so many years of the same food all of a sudden they are all taking it into their mouth and spitting if back out. :/ I had given them peas that I put in the microwave for 15 sec to thaw and I squeezed them to remove the shell and gave them only what was inside the pea, I disposed of the shell. They loved it but now they are rejecting the regular food.
  8. Having a hard time posting a video
  9. Thanks I had problems with my parameters but I have those sorted out now. I'm wondering what else could be the problem
  10. I think I have the problem under control but now concerned for the eldest fish. As you know, I've had him since it was a baby and it's now 7 years. I'm nervous after I learned about expectancy today because coincidently tonight he is acting strange. He looks like he is struggling to breathe and he has sudden movements that are similar to a seizure. Anyone have an idea why he's doing this? Could this be a sign that he is reaching the end? Scared to fall asleep do worried about him :'( I noticed the oranda has what appears to be ick so I put it back in the emergency tank and started treating it for ick. I don't see anything on the other fish. Should I be treating their tank for ick anyway?

Scared to fall asleep do worried about him :'( this fish is family and love him sooo please give me any thoughts. Don't know what I will of the day I loose him. What can I do to make his last days good for him at his old age?

  13. It's been a lot of work but the fish are doing better. I'm still looking into a water changer. I realize I must get one soon. Keeping up with 2 tanks is a chore, but I love my fish. I don't mind doing what it takes to keep them out of harms way. ❤️
