  1. I just ordered some from Pets and Ponds. But I have to order everything for my fish, even prime, so it's easier for me to offset the shipping cost.
  2. She's doing well! Eating and behaving normally, no redness at all. Just have to wait for it to fill in now, the gaping hole gives me the heeby jeebies, lol.
  3. She seems to be doing well, it doesn't look inflamed at all. But I had a heck of a time getting a video to show you her socket. She just wouldn't stop moving around! http://youtu.be/xr1SmxXpk08
  4. Test Results for the Following: * Ammonia Level(Tank) 0 * Nitrite Level(Tank) 0 * Nitrate level(Tank) 10-20 * Ammonia Level(Tap) 0 * Nitrite Level(Tap) 0 * Nitrate level(Tap) 0 * Ph Level, Tank (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) pH 8, KH 6 drops, GH 11 drops * Ph Level, Tap (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) 8 Other Required Info: * Brand of test-kit used and whether strips or drops? API drops * Water temperature? 74 or so. * Tank size (how many gals.) and how long has it been running? Just under a year. * What is the name and "size of the filter"(s)? AC 110 * How often do you change the water and how much? Weekly 90-95% * How many days ago was the last water change and how much did you change? Yesterday, 90-95% * How many fish in the tank and their size? 4 goldfish 2-3" & 3 otocinclus catfish * What kind of water additives or conditioners? Prime * What do you feed your fish and how often? Hikari Lionhead, Saki Hikari (Purple), Soilent Green, frozen bloodworms, frozen brineshrimp. Twice a day, mostly pellets, frozen food about 2 or 3 times a week. * Any new fish added to the tank? Yes, 14 weeks ago. * Any medications added to the tank? No * List entire medication/treatment history for fish and tank. Please include salt, Prazi, PP, etc and the approximate time and duration of treatment. Prazi & salt twice, four rounds & then 2 rounds when I was switching fish around. * Any unusual findings on the fish such as "grains of salt," bloody streaks, frayed fins or fungus? My fantail's eye is missing. * Any unusual behavior like staying at the bottom, not eating, etc.? Nope, she's behaving normally. My poor little Sayuri, she just can't catch a break, it seems. So, I was feeding some soilent green this morning, put some in this tank, then my other. Watched the other tank for a bit, then went back to this one & to my horror I saw Sayuri's eye was gone. It was definitely there yesterday & I have no idea how she could have lost it. Could another fish have bitten/sucked it out? I have seen one of my moors chomping at her by accident before, but it's usually at her tail & anal fins, not her head. I read the other recent thread about the telescope with the lost eye. So I'll be setting up my 29 gallon to quarantine and salt her. I have a spare AC 70 running, so it will be cycled. But I wanted my own thread in case there are any complications. Here's a video: http://youtu.be/IBIk_RdhN6A Thanks, Diana
  5. Her gills look to be a nice deep red, I got a nice look while she was chewing on some repashy, lol. Not sure what too look for, but they didn't appear to have any damage like I've seen in pictures. Also, the ammonia has gone down again. http://youtu.be/a_GBdq6eTbM
  6. She's not too old, I got her as a tiny fish in mid October last year. So I've had her for 5 months, I don't know if that still counts as young or not, lol.
  7. No, it started about 2 weeks ago.
  8. Test Results for the Following: * Ammonia Level(Tank) .25 (seriously?!) * Nitrite Level(Tank) 0 * Nitrate level(Tank) 10 * Ammonia Level(Tap) 0 * Nitrite Level(Tap) 0 * Nitrate level(Tap) 0 * Ph Level, Tank (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) 8 * Ph Level, Tap (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) 8 Other Required Info: * Brand of test-kit used and whether strips or drops? API Mast Test Kit * Water temperature? 73-75 * Tank size (how many gals.) and how long has it been running? 55 gallons, set up 8 months ago. * What is the name and "size of the filter"(s)? AC 110 * How often do you change the water and how much? Once a week, 95%. I also try to vacuum it mid week to get rid of the poop, but I only end up sucking out 10-15%. * How many days ago was the last water change and how much did you change? 4 days ago (Saturday) 95% * How many fish in the tank and their size? 4 goldfish, 2-3 inches. 3 otocinclus catfish & ramshorn snails. * What kind of water additives or conditioners? Prime * What do you feed your fish and how often? Hikari Lionhead, Saki-Hikari, Soilent Green, frozen bloodworms. I feed them twice a day. * Any new fish added to the tank? Moved a fish over to this tank one week ago today. * Any medications added to the tank? No * List entire medication/treatment history for fish and tank. Please include salt, Prazi, PP, etc and the approximate time and duration of treatment. I've done 4 rounds of prazi on this tank, no salt. * Any unusual findings on the fish such as "grains of salt," bloody streaks, frayed fins or fungus? My black moor, Kyoto, has gill curl. Just need to know if it's a concern or not. * Any unusual behavior like staying at the bottom, not eating, etc.? Nope. http://youtu.be/cvKbxlcpAEg
  9. I dosed prazi the same day I moved Sakura over into that tank, which was one week ago today. I'll get yet another D&D thread going... lol.
  10. Oops, I thought I responded to this, but I must have only thought about it, lol! I don't have a gH/kH test kit anymore, but when I did, it took 12 & 8 drops to turn, though I don't remember which is which. I added a new test kit to my order, so I'll let you know once I get it. Sayuri is still the same. I think I might have to accept that she'll always be "off" a bit. Sakura, over in the 55, now has two pinholes in her tail fin. She's had 5 rounds of prazi, the 55 has had 4 rounds. So, should I just do another 4-6 rounds? My other black moor in the 55 has gill plates that are starting to curl, is that something that warrants its own thread?
  11. K, I took a few with my phone. She always seems to look down while I'm holding her, but won't stay still if I don't! Lol Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk
  12. Alright, ammonia and nitrites were 0. Her eyes are still buggy, though. Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk
  13. Yes, they did, but they also receded once with just a plain water change, too. Not so this time, her eyes are still out this morning, so I added the 3/4 tsp of Epsom. I think it was in the tank for 4 days last time? I'll test the water and report her eye condition after work tonight.
  14. Sayuri's eyes were protruded again, but she's behaving normally.
  15. Alright, I moved Sakura (the moor) in with the Wee Rounds (the three fancies in the 55 gallon.) Tested the 29 gallon today & ammonia was only .25 after two days, so mission accomplished in lowering the ammonia. Still no nitrites. Changed the water, but I've not added anymore epsom or regular salt, wasn't sure which I should continue with? I put in some gravel to see if that helps with the cycle, just enough to cover the bottom. I was holding out for sand, but the pet store hasn't had any for months. I'm thinking of buying an AquaClear filter for this tank, the Whisper is ok, but there's just not much room for media in it. If I just move the ceramic biomedia to the new filter, it shouldn't harm anything, right? Tested the 55, ammonia & nitrite were 0, so no spike from the extra fish. I also added a dose of prazi pro the same day I moved her, just in case.
  16. I would put her in the 55 with the three fancies. It would also be easier if I had to treat Sayuri again, then it would just be her instead of the poor moor getting unnecessary meds. Yeah, I kinda get what you're saying about the eyes, it's just so weird for it to suddenly happen then recede again.
  17. Would the protruding develop so late? Sayuri is over a year old & this only started this past week when I let 4 days go by between water changes (I normally to them every 2 days.) They were normal and flat when I got her almost two months ago. I'm thinking it has to do with water quality since the tank isn't cycled. Speaking of which, do you think it would be ok to move the black moor out of this tank? Just to lighten the bioload so maybe the ammonia would be less or would it even make a difference? Even though I try to keep the ammonia under .5 & definitely under 1, I think it's just hard on Sayuri since she still has the lump & whatever bacteria(?) is causing it. Or she might just be extra sensitive to water quality from her time in the 5 gallon, thought that was quite a while ago. I vacuumed up flaky stuff when I did their water change today, I can't be sure, but it looked like the stuff that comes out of the lump, which also looks like poop casings. I think I want to try treating it again, just to get rid of it, if that's possible? Maybe try feeding her some antibiotic this time? On the plus side, she seems to be feeling much better today, not mopey anymore.
  18. Ok, I will check our local store for any of those. Ammonia was .5, nitrite 0. Did 100% waterchange & added back the 3/4 of epsom salt.
  19. I only have metronidazole left. Are metro meds available in Canada? I'll definitely get some if so. I stopped prazi after round four. Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk
  20. Do you not think it's popeye because there are no fluid rings? What else makes eyes bulge out? What antibiotics/treatment are you guys thinking of? I'm asking because I will most likely have to order it in, which takes about a week. Today her eyes do look better:
  21. Ok. Now I'm at work, so I'll add the epsom when I get home & see how she does overnight. Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk
  22. 1/4 tablespoon or teaspoon of epsom salt? Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk
  23. Video is uploaded: http://youtu.be/fGi2C2XchWo Also, is it a normal thing for them to have bubbles stuck to them? This is right after their water change and both have bubbles on their abdomens and tails, the moor had some on her mouth. They do go away in the same amount of time the bubbles on the glass do. I don't notice this with my other fish.
