  1. Just took these when I got home. I think Moby is looking a little better which makes me happier. What do you think?
  2. I'll order the meds when I get home and post an update video.
  3. Also do you recommend using the Jump Start after treatment?
  4. Will do. My concern with the meds is we don't have a qt so will the meds affect the other goldfish in the tank?
  5. Here is another video of Moby. I took this last night and while it is a little dark I think it gives a better idea of the problem.
  6. No change this morning. Still laying at the bottom. He will move if the light is turned on. But he still won't go to the surface. I'll post an update video tonight.
  7. Ok. I'd rather try that first (unless he gets worse) I don't want to medicate unless we absolutely have to especially since we don't have a QT for him. I'll post what we are seeing. Also thank you dnalex. I appreciate your prompt responses.
  8. Oh well that's good. I heard that fasting and then feeding peas would help. Do you think he'll improve? We aren't sure how old he is, we think he's 5+ years old. I haven't seen any poop. It might also be hard to tell whose poo whose without catching them in the act. Do you think it could be anything else that we could try to treat in the mean time?
  9. Ok, so here's the deal. I did my best to feel his belly. From what I can tell it feel muscular and didn't have any kind of mushy feel. He fought be a bit and didn't want to be touched. Our fish aren't used to hands/arms in the tank so he freaked out a little bit. Should I put in any stress coat? I feel like I just stressed him out.
  10. Hey, Just wanted to say amazing job. I can't believe how much better she looks!
  11. Um he's mainly just scooting around the bottom of the tank. If I (or my boyfriend) can feel his belly what are we trying to feel?
  12. Thanks Anna. What site do you use for pictures? I mean I think the video speaks for itself, but people seem to want pictures.
  13. I'm trying not too. I mean I figure as long as I see him move a little bit and his gills are moving he's a live and where there is life there is hope. I just feel bad for him. By the way his name is Moby Dick because he is so large.
  14. Tank has been established for over 2 years. We adopted these two from my boyfriend's co-worker.
  15. Here's another video with him moving. I turned on the tank light and he moved. He usually swims more than that. 30-35gal tank. http://www.amazon.com/Cascade%C2%AE-Canister-Filter-Gallon-Aquariums/dp/B0002DJ9NY That's the filter system (well this one is updated from ours, but you get the idea)
  16. Ok here's the information I have. Test Results for the Following: * Ammonia Level(Tank) 0ppm * Nitrite Level(Tank) 0ppm * Nitrate level(Tank) 5ppm or less * Ammonia Level(Tap) 0ppm * Nitrite Level(Tap) 0ppm * Nitrate level(Tap) 0ppm * Ph Level, Tank (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) 7.6 * Ph Level, Tap (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) 7.8 Other Required Info: * Brand of test-kit used and whether strips or drops? Freshwater Master Kit (drops) * Water temperature? 76F * Tank size (how many gals.) and how long has it been running? * What is the name and "size of the filter"(s)? Cascade Canister Filter, sits on the floor. We also have an air bubbler. * How often do you change the water and how much? We try to change the water 1 per week and when we do it's a 60-75% water change. * How many days ago was the last water change and how much did you change? Last water change was Thursday night, 75% water change. * How many fish in the tank and their size? two fish, both common goldfish (I think) white one is huge I'm guessing at about 12inches. Second is about half that size around 5-6inches. * What kind of water additives or conditioners? Tetra Aquasafe Plus whater conditioner per instructions after water change. * What do you feed your fish and how often? New Life Spectrum Jumbo fish formula. I put in 10 pieces once per day, they seemed to be doing fine. * Any new fish added to the tank? No both came together. * Any medications added to the tank? No * List entire medication/treatment history for fish and tank. Please include salt, Prazi, PP, etc and the approximate time and duration of treatment. Nothing has been done to the tank. * Any unusual findings on the fish such as "grains of salt," bloody streaks, frayed fins or fungus? No * Any unusual behavior like staying at the bottom, not eating, etc.? Stays at the bottom of the tank, and isn't eating much. We often find him on his side. This has been going on since Friday morning so right after the water change. At first I thought he might be sluggish because maybe the water was a bit cold from the change, but I feel like that should have cleared up by now. Here is one video I took. I will try to post pictures in a minute and another video.
  17. I get out at 7 and will have this updated as soon as possible. Thanks for the quick replies. I'm excited that I foud this site!
  18. So I do not have all of the exact specs for the tank, but I'll post them once I get home. My boyfriend did an ammonia test and that was normal. He also did a 75% water change on Thursday night. I believe the tank is 20gal, but it might be 30gal. There are two goldfish in the tank, one is a medium sized orange common goldfish. Probably about 3 inches long including the tail. The other one is a huge white common goldfish. He's probably about 10 inches long. The white goldfish has been at the bottom of the tank since Friday morning. When my boyfriend got up he thought the fish was dead. He was laying on his side at the bottom of the tank. However I could see his gills moving. By mid afternoon he was at the side of the tank right side up, but wouldn't swim around. Saturday morning was the same and so was this morning. From some things I've read it sounds like Swim Bladder Disease. He is showing no physical signs of disease other than not swimming. The other goldfish is fine. Any suggestions would be helpful.
