  1. I have metro meds already! :] And the pearlie and the calico could probably use a break from food for a few days, they're fatties alright, I will do that. He's the ONLY one of my goldies that ever has issues. The time I had an anchorworm infestation, he has 22 and the others had none. Ridiculous. But anyway! Thank you!
  2. It's been 8 days since I ran out of the NLS, I've been feeding minimum pellets. His poop has been bubbly, like, it floats behind him. It was maybe like that for 2 days. It has a little brown in it but not much. He's never been floaty while he's been with me. He's had a LOT of problems, but never floaty. I fed him some aqueon before and he was perfectly fine on it (back in July). Here he is, in all his floaty glory. Ignore my really obnoxious narrations and the grand theft auto 5 in the reflection
  3. Well, all was going well in the world of goldfish until a few hours ago. I came home to my big moor floating on his side, upside down, spinning in circles, etc. Test Results for the Following: * Ammonia Level(Tank): 0ppm * Nitrite Level(Tank): 0ppm * Nitrate level(Tank): 10ppm (barely 10) * Ammonia Level(Tap) 0 * Nitrite Level(Tap) 0 * Nitrate level(Tap) 0 * Ph Level, Tank (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) 7.4 * Ph Level, Tap (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) 7.0 Other Required Info: * Brand of test-kit used and whether strips or drops? 4. Update; I've decided to take the wheels off. Which means doing another 80% water change. So it's gonna have to wait a week or two. But y'all are scaring me. I'll let you know how that goes.
  5. Whoops. I meant 30 wide. The stand is 36. So. I guess it is 55...just tall not wide.
  6. Whoa. That's telling me 66. No way....
  7. However, on a completely different note. I'm beginning to think that it's either a 50 or a 46. I got it from some random guy on Craigslist who said it was a 55 but now looking at the actual dimensions of a 55 it's either a really weirdy shaped one or not one at all. It's 23 high. 16.5 on the sides then the bow is 19.5 and then it's definitely 36 wide. and those aren't the dimensions I read online for a 55. Guys I'm lost
  8. Thank you! The stand was used for a 55 bowfront before me. And he had it up and running for 3 years. Someone came and bought his tank but didn't want the stand so he just gave it for free. I think you're right. I think it is made for a tv but it's seriously the sturdiest thing I've ever seen. It doesn't roll with all the water in it. I had to drain it down almost empty in order to get it to roll easily to move the tank. The wheels are very sturdy. I promise, if I didn't think it would hold, I wouldn't put my precious tank on it. It's like 25ish inches high. And yes I agree it works GREAT for height. I can actually reach into the tank now.
  9. The amount that I need another fish tank in my house is NOT at ALL. But yeah, I've been looking for a stand for it forever, because I really wanted to move them out of the spare bedroom into the living room where they could be enjoyed more. So this was perfect :]
  10. Just the tank stand ;] Its the same tank!
  11. alright you impatient people First off, I hate the new iOS 7 update for iPhones. Mostly because of the camera update and I can never get it clear. So this is the best I could do with you crazy picture vultures breathing down my neck (I'm KIDDING) There it is, in all its free glory. I made my boyfriend jump on it a couple of times. It didn't even budge. PLUS the person before me used it for a tank. I checked out all the wheels first, they are all solid. The reflection is obviously the glass door. I gotta get that white storage unit out of there. Makes it look bad And guess who decided to make an appearance for the first time in forever? Meet Clyde everybody, the tiny bristle nose that keeps this tank in tip top shape :]
  12. When the tank clears from the move I'll take some it'll be maybe an hour ish.
  13. So. I was scanning on craigslist for the past couple of days, hoping to find a fairly cheap 55 bowfront stand. The actual stand was over 100 dollars and I just didn't wanna spend that. My tank was on top of my two INDUSTRIAL end tables that I reallllly wanted moved into my living room. So I scanned and scanned. And came across someone trying to get rid of their glass door, black, practically new bowfront stand for free. I asked for dimensions and low behold it's now sitting in my living room with my goldies on top of it. Best part? He gave it to me for free. Other best part? It was on wheels. So I just rolled the tank across the house. I'm feeling lucky. Other than the fact that I just did an 80% water change (which is a lot of me) I'm feeling rather happy about the whole thing.
  14. Did you run your finger nail on it? Scratch at it on both sides, if you can only feel it on one side it's most likely a scratch.
  15. I know this might sound crazy, but I got a large tank recently and I thought there were two little cracks in the bottom. Because when I looked at them and felt them, it felt JUST like a crack. Try and scratch it reallllly hard with your fingernail, if it comes off then it's what happened to me. If it doesn't, I'm sorry I would double check just to make sure!

    Baby betta #2

I'm assuming he's male, he looks JUST like Bibbit when he was his size, and Bibbit is a bossy little man. So, if he does end up being a girl, then cool, but I'm going out on a limb and saying he's a boy with his fins and colors at his size. (The red one is not even the diameter of a nickel) They're both double tails! I think Bibbit might be a halfmoon double tail because when he flares his tail is very large and has the veining of a halfmoon.

    Baby betta #2

Walked into work yesterday and this adorable little guy was sitting on the fish desk with my name saying "take him home". My co workers know me too well So. Now he needs a name. I have another one, I got him almost a year ago. This is him today. His name is Bibbit (which for those of you who don't know, is French Canadian slang for "little bug"). But he's about a little smaller than a half dollar (USA currency ;P) So! What are we gonna name him
  18. New question then: are you dosing your water daily with prime?
  19. Oh that poor thing :[ You have ammonia in your tap water? That's scary... If this was me, I would move him to a small container, about one gallon. If you have a small heater, use that to keep the water at about 80 degrees (a little warmer than normal). I would do daily water changes, using bottled of distilled water (no ions in distilled water so it wouldn't cause any more bloating) This is what I do when one of mine is sick. I always move them to something smaller so the daily water changes are easier. Just a suggestion, I'm sure a MOD will come by and help you further :] Sometimes its easiest to just let them go, unless you do want to treat. It can cause extra stress though :/ I know metro meds can help with early signs of dropsy and I've actually had success using them, but if you don't know how long he's been like that, it might be too late. So sorry :[ EDIT: Didn't see Narny's post Sorry bout that.
  20. Pepper (the calico) is a photo bomber. She has to be in every single picture, I swear. I think its because she can't be more than three inches away from the black moor.
  21. There are actually two fish in the first pic And thanks everyone!
  22. So, a few weeks ago, my black moor was falling to pieces. He had 22 anchor worms sticking out of his body while flukes ate away at his tail. I just wanted to get a nice pic of my completely healed, and BEAUTIFUL I might add, black moor as an update This is the best I could get. He just wouldn't stop wiggle fishin'. Wiggle fishin' He looks ridiculous in that picture... How do you guys get them to look so good in pics?
  23. So I realized something, which is awful, but I realized that I was leaving my poor bettas light off for days and days because I hated the way the tank looked. It was bright colored gravel and big ol fake plants and I hated it. So I splurged and redid his 5g with some nice java fern, a fern wreath, some rotala indica and some sweet lovin'. Here is the before; This was taken a while ago but it still looked the same. It's no longer divided and those bettas have moved on to tiny betta heaven (may they rip) And this is today. It's still a little cloudy from switching but bear with me
  24. Hmm....well the leaves would definitely stick out of the top, they're probably a good 2 feet tall, 2.5 feet maybe. But good to know! Maybe I'll rethink.
