  1. Yay! Welcome back If they had ich or something like that, the prazi and salt would've taken care of it, right?
  2. Thank you for clarifying that. I guess the fact that they are "feeder fish" had me worried. I've always heard that they are just usually in such bad shape because of the conditions they come from. I was so paranoid that I would contaminate my main tank, but if you say that I'm good to go, then I feel better about it. :-)
  3. What % of salt did you have in the water while you did the 4 rounds of Prazi?I did .3% with double dose prazi for two weeks then .1% and normal dose prazi for the final two weeks
  4. He seems to being doing pretty good. His fins are completely healed so I think I'm going to return him to the QT with the other little guy. ...And I'm still not sure when I'm going to introduce the two of them to my main tank. I'm so worried about possibly introducing something to my healthy tank...
  5. Could you post a video if you get a chance? I'd like to recommend stopping the MMs at 14 days, but it would be good to take a look first. I think he's looking pretty good. Let me know what you think https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8qmI6POj70&feature=player_detailpage edited to add: he has completed 14 days of MMs
  6. I'm sorry I've been MIA but the kiddos started school and life has been crazy! Today is day 11 of the MMs and Sunrise is doing much better! I reweighed him and he's only 3.5 grams now
  7. Not much progress. Still very quiet. His fins are healing, so that's good. He seems hungry. Each time I throw a half of a pellet in he devours it very quickly. 1.5 pellets seems like such a small amount of food.
  8. This is true! And I sure would like to see him grow into a great big fishy
  9. OK. I already fed him some repashy soilent green today and he did eat it. Should I still throw in a half pellet of MMs today? Here he is as of now Am I crazy to be trying so hard to save a $0.14 feeder fish? I just see it as a living creature and I guess I don't have the heart to let him die.
  10. I take that back. I just walked over by him and he's laying on the bottom again
  11. I posted pictures and a video this morning, and as of now, he looks the same as this morning. He's quiet, but not laying on the bottom.
  12. Here he is three days ago (he would just lay there and not move): And here he is today: You can really see what that other fish did to his fin and tail And here's the video. It's hard to get good video through a plastic container... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSfaMJ-8_70&feature=youtu.be He's quiet, but at least he's swimming. I thought he was on his way out the other day
  13. My MMs have finally arrived! And more good news...as of today, Sunrise is eating and not bottom sitting anymore! His fins aren't clamped anymore either! Yesterday was the fourth and final dose of erythromycin. So where do I go from here? Do I still proceed with the MMs? If so how much do I feed him per day? He is a whopping 3.4 grams.
  14. Yes. I hope they arrive soon. No real improvement. Fin still somewhat clamped and complete bottom sitting, unless I put my hand in the tank, then he darts around only to sit again. And his dorsal fin is almost completely eaten off. I'm so upset about this poor little guy.
  15. I swear I'm going to go crazy with these two fish! Today Sushi appears to be doing much better. So much so that he is back to biting Sunrise's fins again. Sushi is the one that was bottom sitting yesterday but no clamped fins so I decided to put him in the hospital tank with Sunrise. Sunrise is still bottom sitting with clamped fins. He swims around (darts, actually) for a brief period and then sinks back down to the bottom. He doesn't even move when Sushi is eating his fin. I can't tell how much of his dorsal fin he has left because it's still clamped but it doesn't look like much. Both are interested in food; Sushi more than Sunrise. So, the bad little fishy is out of the hospital tank and back in the QT. I had no choice. I guess I'll just have to keep a close eye on him for symptoms. Hopefully after the next two days and the final two doses Sunrise will improve. If not, what do I do next?
  16. Well I did manage to get the API E.M. Erythromycin from Petsmart for "Sunrise". After a long day of running around with the kids, I came home to the other little guy, Sushi, bottom sitting now. His fins are up, but he just sits there. I put some food in the tank before I left and they didn't touch it. I am amazed on how quickly Sushi's behavior changed. Yesterday he was fine. It was almost like he would go over to Sunrise and nudge him like he knew he was sick. And now, in a matter of hours, he is acting sick. He seemed fine this morning. I now have both of them in a brand new 10 gallon, unfiltered, uncycled QT, treated with prime and replenish and put in 1 packet of the erythromycin. Now the waiting game begins, I guess.
  17. One more quick question...should I treat the other fish too just in case?
  18. Ok, I'll get that today. Where do I go from here? Do I treat with the erythromycin (or tri sulfa, whichever I find) and then start metro meds too once they arrive? Do I need to start another QT tank for this guy or just treat both fish in the current QT?
  19. Ok, I ordered the metro-meds and ill get the other from my LFS tomorrow. Yes, he is eating and I watched him poo. Looks normal, and is the color of his food. The water parameters are always the same. I do believe that the tank is cycled because even after 5 days with no water change there is no ammonia. The filter is from a cycled tank. And, Lisa, this is the same fish who got his fins & tail eaten by the other fish...if that makes a difference
  20. I don't have any :'( I've never needed them Edited to say that the other fish is acting totally normal.
