It has been a year since I last posted on this blog. A lot has happened in that time frame so I will try to catch you guys up. Last December I was given a 55 gallon aquarium .
A few days later I went to our lps to get food and they had a huge calico oranda. I was so excited because I absolutely love calico orandas and I can never seem to find them. I bought him and set my old 29 gallon as a qt tank. I got prazipro, salt etc. and did the usual qt process. After a month I thought he was healthy enough so I put him in my 55 gallon. That was my big mistake. A few days later my I found him dead and one of my other fish was showing signs of a wen infection and had red marks all over her body. We put her in qt but unfortunately she passed two days later. I was devastated and almost stopped keeping goldfish . I stopped doing water changes for my one remaining goldfish and avoided coming to this form for a while. Thank goodness my goldfish Casey is such a trouper or I would have lost her and been even more devastated because this time it would have been my fault. A few months after I started doing regular water changes again I decided it was time for another goldfish. I bought a TINY blue oranda and set it up in a qt tank. He only lived 3 days..... Then in March my mom let me get a little red cap oranda at her house for my birthday. He is still alive and thriving. Then in August I saw another calico oranda this one was tiny. My mom let me get him and we set him up in a 5 gallon qt tank ( he was less than a 1/2 inch long. Sadly he only lived a few hours. After that I decided not to get any more fish. Now into the present. Casey and prince are doing very well. I am thinking of putting them together in the 29 gallon I have Casey in because as of late they have both been looking kind of board and listless and since they are social animals I think that they have gotten lonely. That's it for now, I hope to upload some pictures soon.
