  1. Hello, I have an oranda/pearlscale that I want to give away. I am in the San Francisco Bay Area and prefer someone local if possible. I had her for about a year but I can no longer take care of her. With work and school and my landlord grinding us about the water bill I have decided to give her up. She is bottom sitting at the moment. My gf wants to treat her but if you can do a better job at healing her please do. I can ship her to you guys too but she isn’t doing well and might not survive the trip. Contact me at 5102054968. Thank you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. That's good to hear =) she use to swim around a lot tho that's why I'm concerned. I don't want to jump to conclusions but I was thinking some bacteria might be in her stomach
  3. Sure =). I hope it's nothing. My girlfriend said that she looks sad. I hope that's the case! Has there been cases where fishes don't swim because they're head heavy?
  4. Here is another video of her swimming up and down. I forgot to mention that there seem so be some slimey ( spiderweb looking thing) thats white that is floating around the water. I'm not sure if that is anything.
  5. Here is a Video of her swimming somewhat. she does this for a while and then goes back to sitting at the bottom, looking around.
  6. Hi fantail! Yes I can make that video. My kh and gh is low only 2dkh for both. I just started using seachem equilibrium and baking soda about 3 days ago.
  7. It almost looks like she can't stay up for long and wiggles her body down to the bottom. She's not sinking involuntary or anything she's making her way down herself
  8. Yes she did do this in the main tank for about 2 weeks before I put her in the QT tank. She seems to swim in the corner of the tank like she's trying to dig a hole or something sometimes. She does have a tank mate he's in another QT bucket for now.
  9. It seems like she's able to hover a bit. She seems to swim down herself after getting some food. She swims around for 15 seconds mid tank when I come home from work
  10. Hello all, My Oranda is Bottom sitting. I put her in the QT tank for about 2 weeks now and do 90 percent water changes everyday. My Main tank actually broke, and i'm starting a new fishless cycle on my new tank right now. Since my main tank broke I only have the water parimeters for the QT Tank. * Ammonia Level(Tank): 0 * Nitrite Level(Tank): 0 * Nitrate level(Tank): 0 * Ammonia Level(Tap): 0 * Nitrite Level(Tap) 0 * Nitrate level(Tap) 0 * Ph Level, Tank: 8.0 * Ph Level, Tap 8.8, settles to 7.8-8 in a couple hours Other Required Info: * Brand of test-kit - API Master - drops * Water temperature? ~72 * Tank size:12 gallons Quarantine * What is the name and "size of the filter"(s)? No Filter * How often do you change the water and how much? Daily, 90% * How many days ago was the last water change and how much did you change? Today 90% * How many fish in the tank and their size? One, ~4inches * What kind of water additives or conditioners? Prime, baking soda ( I have soft water.) * What do you feed your fish and how often? Hikari Gold (floating type, i soak in water for 5 minutes) * Any new fish added to the tank? No * Any medications added to the tank? No * List entire medication/treatment history for fish and tank. Nox Ich about 6 months ago, salt dip * Any unusual findings on the fish such as "grains of salt," bloody streaks (not much?) * Any unusual behavior like staying at the bottom, not eating, etc.? Bottom Sitting She does come up to eat when i put food into the tank and she does swim up to me when i walk in the door. I'm not sure whats wrong and if you guys can help me out that would be great! Here is a Video of her: Here is a picture of her https://flic.kr/p/qSihNc https://flic.kr/p/qcKezA
  11. But yes you guys are right, I should have QT it to be extra safe that was an error on my part
  12. I did get him @ a local fish store! It's in Fremont called family pets and they guarantee their fishes to be disease free? ?Hmmm that's not exactly something they can guarantee I believe.. A fish can be sick and not show signs for awhile. Also, when you take the fish home it is under a lot of stress. So when you put it in the main tank it can be susceptible to diseases your fish may carry but they are immune to. It's best to do a complete QT (about a month long) and I would go so far as to treat with Prazi as almost all fish carry fluke worms for the entire duration of their lives. Prazi cuts down on the infestation so the fish don't get infection or diseases from them. Hello! Well the fishstore garuntees it, or they will refund your money + 100 dollars on top of that. I had her do a QT tank because she doesn't allow you to buy a fish off hand, you would have to pick it up after a couple-few weeks later. She doesn't sell any fishes to everyone only if you have proof your tank is cycled. Thank you for your concern though! My fishes is thriving. When I put him in he wasn't stressed, he was shy because he was swimming around but only behind the plants and decor. Again, thanks for your concern :-)
  13. Thanks guys! This guy was shy @ first but now he's up and about!
