  1. Yes, I understand. We did the clove oil anyway just to make sure. We're going to upgrade their tank, because the size has been causing a lot of water quality problems. We also have another of the same filter we're going to hook up. We've been planning to upgrade for a while, but we're always fighting health issues. Now we're just going to upgrade for the remaining 4. Thank you everyone for your kind words!
  2. Her breathing has stopped. We're going to euthanize. When we put her in the hospital tank, a rock fell out of her mouth. We think she may have swallowed a rock because she was bloated. She's not breathing or moving. Do you remember how much clove oil we have to mix in?
  3. Her breathin is shallow and she is lethargic. Setting her up to be moved to the hospital tank right now.
  4. Thank you! Here is a pic and a video. http://s1319.photobucket.com/user/MegaKitty1297/media/VID_20140817_125247_zpsba19b376.mp4.html?sort=3&o=2 http://s1319.photobucket.com/user/MegaKitty1297/media/20140817125241_zps454dbc87.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0
  5. I forgot to mention that we just did a water change, about 25 of the 45 gallons and refilled up to 55 gallons. She's moving a little more, but she's still very lethargic. She's also been hanging out in the bubbles a lot. I can do another one right now! I have not seen her poop at all, but I'm not home a lot, especially during the week. I don't know how to confirm that she's a female other than the fact that she is usually the one getting chased by the males (who all have breeding stars) and I've never seen her chase anyone. The other female that gets chased pushed past the divider and ended up on the male side, I have to move her back, but I don't want to bother Larry too much. RIght now the males are chasing poor lucky to death and I want to get her away from them. I'll try, but it's hard with the way she's floating. I could move Moe back to the big tank since his lip is healed and put her in the hospital tank so I could get a better picture. Do you think that would be too stressful on her? I have both MM and MG. I also have both Epsom salt and aquarium salt.

This week last water change was a week ago. * How many fish in the tank and their size? 4 Currently (5th one is in the hospital tank for his lip that I posted about a while ago) Larry and Lucky are the biggest at about 7-8 inches, Curly is about 3-4 inches, Roxy is about 2.5 inches. * What kind of water additives or conditioners? Prime * What do you feed your fish and how often? Usually Progold once a day, but since she's been bloated, I haven't fed them much. The bloating would only last for half the day, so I thought it was the food, but it just kept getting worse and lasting longer. 7. Ok, I'll update tomorrow, once I set up the QT. Is there anything I should do for him tonight?
  8. I might put him in a hospital tank tomorrow. The other males are chasing him around and he's bumping into things. He just reopened the wound. The skin that used to be the bubble is now ripping off. I feel like it will never heal if he keeps hurting it.
  9. I did not get any pictures of him on sunday. The last water change was 4 days ago. We did two 80% WC's. His lip was staring to look better. It was still a little red, but not as bad. Then I was looking today and I thought I was looking at the skin healing over it, but as the night went on, I realized it was a bubble under the skin. It was getting, bigger and I took a couple of videos of it. Now he must have popped it on something, because it looks like it flattened out. You can catch a glimpse of it before it popped. He's still acting pretty normal. He's not 100% because the lip is probably bothering him. http://s1319.photobucket.com/user/MegaKitty1297/library/Moe%205-29-14?sort=3&page=1&postlogin=true
  10. Tonight we did two 80% water changes. Prazi Pro Round 2 ended 2 days ago, but life got in the way and we weren't able to remove it until tonight. I feel bad about it. Moe's lip was looking good on and off over the week. It would look better, then he'd rub it raw again, then better, then worse. Tonight it looks raw again. I'm going to let them be in the fresh water for tonight. He's acting normal and eating normal. I was thinking tomorrow I should add back the salt treatment and just keep an eye on him. I'm hoping it will heal better if I keep up with 2 water changes throughout the week. Is this a good plan or did you want me to try something else?
  11. Thank you guys. It is JBL Sansibar Black sand, it is very fine sand but should take lots of time to clean and it looks beautiful. You can check it out at this website: http://www.amazon.co.uk/JBL-Sansibar-BLACK-10kg/dp/B007FKK8VO Their official website is on maintenance so I give u this site instead. I was looking to see if that brand is sold in the US, but I was having a hard time finding it. However, I did find Tahitian Moon Sand. http://www.amazon.com/Carib-Sea-ACS00821-Tahitian-Aquarium/dp/B007R55QUU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1400951284&sr=8-1&keywords=Tahitian+Moon+Sand It looks similar to the sand in your tank and I've read a few good things about it. Here's a video of it in someone's goldfish tank: It looks like they love it! I might get it for my new tank.
  12. Your tank and fish are beautiful! What brand is the sand that you used? I'm looking to upgrade to a bigger tank soon and would like to replace my crushed coral with sand.
  13. This morning when I woke up, all the fish seemed off. The are breathing weird and they're a little twitchy. Also, Curly (the white and orange fish in the videos) was aggressively picking at Moe's lip! I was getting very upset with him. All the males seem to be aggressive towards each other, but more of it is focused on Moe. Moe's lip is looking less red today despite Curly picking on it. I'm going to do a water change and see if that helps any. Maybe they've been in the salt for too long? I can always add it back if you guys suggest it. I just don't know what to do. Today is day 5 that they've been in just salt. They're due for a water change anyway. Here are the videos: http://s1319.photobucket.com/user/MegaKitty1297/library/Moe%205-17-14?sort=3&page=1
  14. Yesterday the ph tested at 7.6. Today is day 4 of the salt treatment. Moe's lip is looking red again, with his lip peeling a little, almost as if he injured it again. I don't know what he could be hurting it on. I don't have any ornaments in there and haven't had any in there since before he hurt his lip. All I have is the divider, a bubbler that sits on the male side of the tank and the filter. The intake tube of the filter is on the male side as well. Maybe he kissed the filter intake and that's what caused the first injury and now he's just irritating it? I don't know what's going on with his lip. Should I just do the normal 50% WC and add back the salt plus prazi treatment?
  15. I'll check it today when I get home from work. Funny thing is, I haven't seen him do that since Tuesday night. I left the tank the way it is. It's still only lowered by 5 gallons. I have been treating it as a 50 gallon tank.
  16. Update: Last night I was feeding them before I went to bed. Before I fed them, Curly was darting to the top and grabbing air, then darting back down. During feeding, he nearly jumped out of the water. Then he flashed out of the water over the divider and into the female side of the tank. It was late, so I left him there, but I have to move him back because he's chasing them and picking at them. I haven't seen him flash since he jumped to that side. I already have the tank lowered to the 5 gallon mark, so now I think have to lower it even more after I move him back. Moe's lip is looking really good though. I think it's healing up well!
  17. Water changes done. We did about 80% each time. I also ran the filter when the water was high so that medicine wasn't sitting in the filter during the water changes. I slowly added the saltwater to their tank while the water was filling. They look a little stressed from the water change, but they should be ok in a little while. Moe's lip started looking less inflamed after the first water change. Now it only has a tiny bit of red. It's looking pretty good right now.
  18. Ok, I'm in the middle of doing the water changes now. So we should be up and running with just the salt in the water in about a half hour. My python came in over the weekend and I'm so happy to be using it! I was worried it would suck up all the water! Ha ha! Here's a funny story about the seaweed delight! I tried to feed it to them on saturday. The males figured out that it was food and went crazy over it. The females didn't have a clue and tried hiding behind it like it was a plant. I ended up removing it and feeding them progold. lol! I'll have to try again.
  19. I just prepared the salt for their water. I'm waiting for it to cool. How do I do a 100% water change without removing all of the fish? Also, should I be feeding them medicated food of any kind? I didn't think I needed it at first and I'm still not sure if they really do need it or not. I have both Medi-Gold and MetroMeds. Moe's lip looks white almost like it's normal color, but there is a red sore around it where the lip is ripping. He's been eating well and is almost as active as the rest of them. They're all not looking 100%, but that's probably due to the medication.
  20. Update: They're a little more active now. Moe's lip doesn't look as red as it did half an hour ago. It looks like it's peeling back from the center of his lip. Almost like sunburn, only it's slowly peeling away more and more of his lip. Could this be the dead/injured skin falling off? Edit: I forgot to say that tomorrow, monday, is the 5th day. (Well more like 5 and a half because I did the first treatment late at night.)
  21. I've been out all day and didn't really get a good look this morning, but Moe's lip looks a little worse. It looks like he is missing a chunk out of his lip. Last night it looked white like his normal lip color with a little bit of pink, but tonight it has more red on it. He has pieces of skin hanging off his lip. Aside from that, all the fish look a little blah. I was hoping I could wait until tomorrow to do the water change, but that might not be an option. Also, I just saw Curly twitching a little bit while I was typing. The two females are hovering close to the bottom. There is also a long white stringy poop floating around and I'm not sure who it's from. They are not quite bottom sitting, but they are not very active either. Edit: I'm waiting for my photos and video to upload to photobucket. I'll post a link as soon as it's done. Edit 2: Here's the album with photos and video. His mouth is tough to get photos of. http://s1319.photobucket.com/user/MegaKitty1297/library/Moe%205-11-14?sort=3&page=1
  22. Yeah, I haven't seen him do that since then. So it must not be happening too often. They all seem to be handling pretty well! Moe's lip no longer has the red on it. It has a litte piece hanging off, but his lip seems to be returning to normal coloration.
  23. Moe's mouth had a little bit of skin hanging off it this morning. It fell off by the afternoon. Now he has a little bit of a red mark, it looks like a cut. I don't see anymore fuzzy growths. Also, Curly was rubbing against the rocks and his dorsal fin was twitching a bit. Is this a side effect of the treatment?
  24. Ok, thank you! I have some seaweed delight that I've been wanting to give them. I'll do that tomorrow.
