  1. The most I have spent on a fish is $50 + shipping on my ECR. I think it was totally worth it and I would do it again. No regrets.
  2. Thank You. Thank you. That is Tinsel I got her from Petsmart last October. The other blue/gray looking Oranda (Dude) named by my 13 yr old niece, I got from a petstore called tropical world pets and the black moor, calico telescope, and tri color ryukin all came from petsmart. I got most of them as babies when I reset up my 125 gallon. I can't believe she was at PetSmart. Did she start out those colors, or more like the blue/gray? Just so I know what someone might have to watch for... Yes. I have a picture of her at the pet store Ill try to add it. Ive gotten some gorgeous fish from petsmart thru the years I had a gorgeous calico oranda that was huge and she looked show quality to me. You just have to keep your eyes open and visit other petsmart not just one specific store I go to the petsmart in Arnold Commons, Sunset Hills and Brentwood.
  3. Thank you Sherry!!!! You will love your Ranchu from ECR!!!!! Thank you so much Mr. Hyde!!!! I was so afraid to do this by mail I never tried it but now that she is here and she is so adorable I don't know why I hadnt tried it sooner. I totally understand now why some people only have just the ranchus in their tanks.

  6. I just got my Matt Metallic Lemon Ranchu from East Coast Ranchu's and cant wait to introduce her. She looks more peachy than anything but was bigger than I expected. I just put her in the tank in this video and now she is learning her way around. She is such a sweetheart. I just love her. https://flic.kr/p/neyE4U

  10. Aw how cute. I really love your calico oranda in the bottom picture.
  11. Oh congrats. I remember it's a lot of work. I added sand to my tank last Monday and still don't have my tank the way I want it. I'm starting think it will always be a work in progress.
  12. Thanks everyone I removed the fish and added the sand last night. Then added the fish back and everyone is doing fine. Tithra the baby dwarf tears didn't last long enough for me to kill them the goldfish turned it into a tasty snack and the tank is still a work in progress it seems like I'll never get it looking just right. Not to mention when I checked on it this morning the roots from the baby dwarf tears were floating around and sticking to the filter. What an adventure.
  13. I just watched the video he looks healthy to me and very active he is saying wow I love my new home how exciting cant wait to meet the other fish here after quarantine.
  14. Ok so I have three 20 bags of black sand to add to my tank and its been bare bottom all this time while cycling. I have fish it this tank and was wondering if I can add the sand with the fish in it or if I should remove them and put them back in after adding the sand. Here was my plan I was going to clean the sand prior to adding it to the tank like I do with any substrate than when I clean out the tank and its about half full while filling back up with the new water add the sand one bag at a time until its all in and than spead it out this way I wont disturb the fish to much. Also I just purchased some Java Fern, Baby Dwarf Tears, and a Amazon Sword. Ive had an Anubis plant and Water Wisteria already planted in small pots under some gravel with plant tabs and was going to replant them under the sand the only plant that I know 100% where I am going to plant is the Baby Dwarf Tears. Everything else im not sure about how big is gets and where I should plant it any tips would be greatly appreciated. So far what I have observed is the Amazon sword looks very tall and should maybe be planted toward the back along with the wisteria which has grown alot already since I got it. The anubis looks small and java fern medium is it ok to plant java fern in the substrate Ive seen lots of videos where everyone suggests attaching it to wood or rocks? The baby dwarf tears I was going to divide by three and put it near underneath the openinging on my bridge that I have in the tank. Thanks for help in advance.
  15. He is so cute. Congrats. He will grow to be big and beautiful like your other orandas. Orandas are my favorite of the fancies.

  17. I'm so sorry to hear that Jet passed Cheryl. You definitely did all you could for him and he was such a beautiful sweet fish so I can see why you loved him so much. Animals are such special beings they bring us a purpose in life and so much joy and unconditional love and with that comes the considerable amount of pain when we lose them.
  18. What about Jellybean? I think its cute.
  19. I love days like this. When everything goes my way.
  20. Keep looking and you will find it. I found two cute little calico orandas a my local fish store one of them has quite a bit of orange on it and its so bright it almost looks neon.
  21. I think I may be cycled. My reading yesterday was p.h. 7.6 ammonia 0.25 nitrite 0.25 and nitrate 5.0. What should I do next?
