  3. Im always wondering if my snails really does eat... Here's a clue....
  4. Hey here's how I run my Equipment setup Im using 2main canister on either side & create the dropdown waterfall effect frm e top of e tank as I like the splashing sound of it and it creates more air bubbles+oxygen While the internal filters in e middle gives the middle part of the tank some directional 2way flow when it hits the front on the tank... lastly the 2Gex japanese brand airpump filters further clean up loose particles which a normal airstone cant achieve *recently removed my river gravels and trying out bare bottom
  5. Will try Seachem Prime when used up Nutrafin... But I dont think it will be cheap in asia Since prime requires only a few droplets does it mean its very concentrated? And if u dose more will it Affect the fishes? As all other conditioner are safe for overdose during treatment or introducing new fish
  6. I have been using API Stresscoat+ for abt a year & every wc would make the whole tank cloudy but will clearup within a few hrs... whats inside?? Green solution with Aloe Vera extract Recently I made a switch to Nutrafin Which has herbal extracts and appears in a brown solution and odourless compared to API... Reason for e switch? Well my LFS having a huge discount over API and my current API had just finish.. RESULT OF USE? ♥ it as it doesnt cloud the water aft wc and I just felt better This is my 1st wc using this Nutrafin Will review again if I notice any new sign...
  7. Thks for e info I Heard uv is not that essential.. Looks like I have to get some medicine to kill e ich
  8. Recently I thought my fishes were having white spots and WATERLIFE myxazin + salt + 32°celsius kills most of it.. I tested my water and nitrate/nitrite are all "0" I was wondering if fixing a uv light on my canister filter actually works as it's supposed to kill off unseen parasite? Or its a waste of $? Or more frequent water change eliminate the need for uv?
  9. we dont use bleach here in asia (never heard of) i just uses some used toothbrushes to brush & clean off yr equipment and gave it a hot water bath.. it might not be as good as Bleaches but hot water does kill off fish lice instantly & any other parasites might be killed this way too
  10. Im glad u guys love it I didnt know it will turn out pretty when I rescued it frm my LFS with 2-3more left which were much paler.. It was on 50% discount off due to cloudy eyes... But its my favourite fish & it does sleep alot And being e only tele in my tank, Naturally I had to drop off food right next to it so it will get its fair share of e meal.. Recently one of the eyes develope a growth & its kind of pointed in one eye now, not sure will it eventually go away... Its eating well and looks healthy though
  11. Look how fast my Globe-Eye changes its color within a few minutes Always turned pale when its resting and back to its orig color when its awake lol
  12. Yes me too tried to squeeze in some tissue paper but just couldnt reach all e way in and when u have a handfull of these tubes to clean, u naturally feel lazy I just happen to discover by chance when Im cleaning it...
  13. Those tiny API glass tube are always hard to dry out before storage & worry abt losing its cap? U can actually cap it at the base of the test tubes and that keep yr cap secured While let it dry itself out & store it right away
  14. hey Ever wonder why yr suckers always fails to work, warp or even flip back after mths in yr aquarium? Dont throw them away yet! Just drop them into a cup of boiling water & within 30seconds they are good as new and do what they do best, Sucks again *tested on ehiem suckers *discover this tips by chances lol
  15. LOL my ranchu I believe is a top view ranchu as I pickup at my LFS frm a tub.. Maybe its e ranchu pellet thats giving a wen+eye upsized lol
  16. Hey thanks for e concern. ChelseaM u are so sweet. LoL U notice me being silent for awhile? Well been busy with work. Sad thing to say,I just lost 2 of my bubble eyes to dropsy yesterday and it came quite suddenly! occasionally my fishes had these stubborn lice that never seems to go away... Although im doing deep gravel clean but its jus not good enough That prompted me to remove all e gravels as well e bad stuff.
  17. Finally its time to remove all e 80kg of river gravels and have a clean clear look to the tank and the fishes really look better and brighter too.. From the looks of them (in pix)... I think its a thumbs-up! Its also took away many hidden bad bacteria and bugs that have been pestering them too
  18. u must put a layer of polyfoam board to cushion between the tank base and the stand.. this will cushion any particle (like a gravel) or uneven surface (like the welding of the steel stand that is to hold the glass base) u can also use a child playmat foam like i did.. it has to be 10mm thick, that what we practice over here do not fill up till u put this polyfoam or stylofoam board u might get away if it didnt break but the gap tells u to do something to it...that will put u at ease
  19. yes im planning to house it in a 2ft tank onces i set it up... afterall they are MONSTER FISH!
  20. Hey look at my new tankmate for my fancy goldfish! This is a 4" featherfin catfish with a pointed fins but after 2days with my GoldFishes, they managed to be at peace. . They were quite daring to rest next to it and even snatches the sinking pellets which I drop right infront of it... As u know goldfish will grab any food as fast as lighting lol
  21. And its rather cheap here @s $1.60 each lol
  22. Saw these nice purple colored snails at our LFS...named as Elephant snails... Look rather nice in purple
  23. thks..been trying to removed them daily if i can see one...unless i dry up my tank i guess i have to keep my eye open lol... some salt added and heater switched on to heal any wound and broken fins,,, btw hw much (ml) salt is .3% of 400L(est 100Gallons)??
