  1. I had the tank cycled before I got the fish and I haven't seen any ammonia on my tests since I got the fish. My other fish doesn't have any spots on him. Also, I use baking soda to raise the ph before I add the water to the tank. And I'm currently looking for a 40 gallon tank.

About a week ago one of my fish started developing a couple small black spots on her wen. They have been getting bigger and now has some small black patches on her fins. My fish are currently on day 20 of prazi and salt. http://s1325.photobucket.com/user/mang0peach/media/DSC02856_zps8d1f97c5.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0 http://s1325.photobucket.com/user/mang0peach/media/DSC02854_zpsd982e64f.jpg.html?sort=3&o=1 you can see it on her fins in this picture http://s1325.photobucket.com/user/mang0peach/media/DSC02853_zpsd37d14a4.jpg.html?sort=3&o=2 http://s1325.photobucket.com/user/mang0peach/media/DSC02848_zpsf1c179d1.jpg.html?sort=3&o=4
  3. Okay, I will start treating prazi. So you're pretty positive my fish doesn't have ich? And I use baking soda to bring the ph up before putting it in the tank. I also add in the new water slowly if that helps at all.
  4. Yeah I do have some prazi pro that I just got a couple days ago. So if its not ich should I turn the temperature back down or will it help with bacterial spots as well? I also checked her over this morning and noticed the spots on her side are gone. Also, will a little less than 0.2% salt work? I did a small water change last night and they're looking a bit more active today.
  5. http://s1325.photobucket.com/user/mang0peach/media/DSC02789_zps81f914b9.jpg.html here's a picture I took just now. You can see the spots on her tail.
  6. They were completely fine and active right up until I added in the 2nd does of salt. They've been eating perfectly fine. The ich isn't too bad yet, its only on one fish and its a few spots on her side and tail. I've had them for a month. Should I change out a bit of water? http://s1325.photobu...html?sort=3&o=0 this picture was taken on saturday so she has a couple more spots now where are the spots? In the picture, the only white spots I am seeing are on the wen, and those appear to be normal wen growth as opposed to ich. Are there any white spots on the fins/body? sorry its hard to see in the picture. There's a spot in the middle of her body in the orange part and one near her tail and then there are a couple on her tail fins. You have to look really closely.

Please include salt, Prazi, PP, etc and the approximate time and duration of treatment. started salt treatment for ich yesterday * You can really help us to identify with the concern more accurately if you post some pictures and a short video. Yesterday I did a 60% water change and added 29 teaspoons of salt to start treating ich which I recently found on one of my fish. Today (20 hours later) I added another 29 teaspoons to get the salt to 0.2% and about 15 mins after adding it both my fish stopped moving around. One is bottom sitting or a couple minutes and then moves around a bit, and then bottom sits. The other one if just floating there. They both still come up to the glass when I go by though. Is this normal or should I do a water change?
  11. I'd just keep them in the same tank until and after treatment, especially since you have a divider that works just fine at keeping everyone separated and safe. This also means less confusion over at your D&D thread, in which this symptom does need to be mentioned. No need for extra work for your situation when as long as they're kept apart by that divider things should work fine. You may even see a reduction in aggression during treatment, thus removing your problem entirely anyway. Okay, thanks for clearing that up
  12. I was going to put Mango in the separate tub before I start treating, and then when my prazi comes in I was going to put him back in the tank. I think you may have misunderstood and thought I was going to treat them separately? Or maybe I'm misunderstanding and you think I should just keep them together until I start treatment, and then put Mango into the separate tub after treatment is over?
  13. I found a 10 gallon storage bin for Mango. Should I still put him into it, or wait until after treatment? The prazi won't arrive for over week.
  14. Just some extra info, I recently found out that my fish have parasites. Here's the thread http://www.kokosgoldfish.invisionzone.com/forum/index.php?/topic/108072-possible-parasite/ I ordered some prazi and it should be here next week. Could this have anything to do with their behaviour? fyi Peach stopped bottom sitting after she was separated from Mango
  15. Okay I will give this a try! Thanks! No problem, my friend! This happened to me twice, and this method worked like a charm! I hope it works out for you, too, which it most likely will. Also, treat Peach with some nice goldfish treats, and some nice food, so she would be happier and less stressed. And if this doesn't work, you could get a darker divider, which is found in petsmart or petco, and place it in, so they wont see each other. I don't have an extra tank to put Mango into so would putting in a darker divider work just as well? If not I could probably dig out a storage bin for him.
  16. Okay I will give this a try! Thanks!
  17. here are pictures of them as close as I could get http://s1325.beta.photobucket.com/user/mang0peach/library/
  18. I got them at the same time and they were living in the same tank
  19. Mango doesn't have any torn fins and Peach just has one very small tear on her tail fin. And yes they each have 15 gallons to themselves.
  20. it was happening all the time before I separated them, but it got worse at feeding time. Now during feeding times I see them try to get at each other through the divider.
  21. I got these two fish 2 weeks ago and after about a week, Mango, my red and black oranda started picking on Peach, my red and white oranda. He didn't chase her but he would follow her everywhere and nip at her fins and face and started pushing into her with his head (I don't know what they're genders actually are). I noticed Peach started getting pretty stressed out so a couple days ago I bought a tank divider (they're in a 30 gallon). The water parameters have been great the entire time I've had them. Also, Peach is looking much more perky and less stressed since they've been separated. Today I decided to try and put them together again and see what happens. Here's a video of what they did. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJphgbjRkg4
  22. Will just salt work or will I need prazi as well?
  23. Is it still okay to use salt even if my fish is bottom sitting? She will bottom sit for a few minutes then start swimming again. And will salt ruin my cycle?

Please include salt, Prazi, PP, etc and the approximate time and duration of treatment. * You can really help us to identify with the concern more accurately if you post some pictures and a short video. I just got my two fish last week and I noticed that one of them acts abnormally sometimes. A lot of the time her fins are clamped, she won't be very active, and I've seen her swim erratically for a few seconds a couple times within the past week. I sat in my room for 3 hours and watched her and she did it twice. I've only seen my other fish do it once. She still perks up when I come near the tank and is always eager to eat. My other fish is completely fine, I've only seen him occasionally twitching his fins. I cycled my tank before I got them and have been testing the water everyday since I got them and there has never been a trace of ammonia or nitrite. I did some reading on the symptoms of goldfish parasites and these symptoms seem to match them. I just want to take care of any potential problem before it gets worse.
  25. I have two 3 inch orandas and I was feeding them peas and I accidentally put in a piece of pea that was quite large and one of my fish got at it before I could. She stopped swimming and took around 5 or 6 minutes trying to chew it. I thought she was choking so I was about to take her out and try to get the pea out of her mouth, but then she swallowed it and is now acting normal and looking for more food at the bottom of the tank. My question is, is the piece of pea going to get clogged inside her and kill her? Or am I just overreacting?
