  3. Ok thanks How long till the black spots start showing?
  4. Came home from work to find one of my tanks full of eggs There are afew left that haven't been eaten Most seem to be clear with a white spot in them are they fertilised?
  5. For size comparison This is the other one I have that is the same size as what she was
  6. I think this might be what happened to herThe next day she was bottom sitting and bloated again, I had to go to work that morning so didn't have much time to do anything, all I could do was give her a quick Epsom salt dip and to see if that helped but by the time I came home from work I had lost her [emoji22]
  7. Not really I only have the two in that tank and I'm pretty sure they are both girls The other one does chase this one after feeding occasionally but it doesn't last longer then 10seconds Maybe the other is a male. It's hard to tell when they are this small I had recently moved them from the 20g QT to the 40g
  8. Some of the eggs (actually must have been closer to 50 eggs lol) This is the fish that laid them
  9. I know they shouldn't be bred till they they about two but I got two butterflies a month ago and I noticed today one was really fat and bottom sitting, I removed them to do a W/C and all of a sudden there were about 30 eggs in the bowl They are only about 4-5cm in body so teeny tiny (3cm when I got them) can goldfish lay eggs that young? Or is it more likely that they are older then I thought and have been stunted?
  10. Only about a week I think But you can freeze it
  11. My 4 foot doesn't currently have lids I would like to get some for the back half just to help stop the splash from the bubbler. It has a hood but it still looses about 1.5 gallons a week to evaporation Which I guess didn't matter too much as you add that back in when you do water changes anyway
  12. I have had these guys for 3 weeks now [emoji4]
  13. Well that's good to know lol When I was first learning about goldfish I read that if you feed them frozen peas or were nuking veggies in the microwave you should use dechlorinated water so I always do it for any of their foods We can smell it in our tap water too ???? It's just as easy for me to take a scoop of water from the tank as it is to get some from the tap so it doesn't bother me ????
  14. Make sure it's declorinated I just used tank water in a small bowl and microwaved it till it was boiling (30sec - 1min) Also you won't need a measuring jug Just a spoon/ measuring spoon I made up 2 tablespoons worth of the food so had to add 6 tablespoons of water and I think I made too much lol I'm about 2/3 of the way threw it It only lasts about a week in the fridge once made up I think I'll just make up one tablespoon worth at a time as I need it from now on You could freeze the extra if you do make too much though
  15. Yep it doesn't smell anything near as bad as repashy lol
  16. Nawwww I love BN ???? I have a common and two albino long fins I have had peppermints before but they are too skittish and Id never see them ????
  17. Only 1 day I live about an hr away from the supplier and they posted express [emoji4]
  18. Got my algae gel today! It's definitely not as grainy as repashy and a lot less smelly when making it lol Fishies had a little taste and they all loved it ????
  19. I'll keep you all updated then ???? I was going to buy repashy soilent green aswell from lilly reptiles but I think I might get the spawn and grow instead if I'm using the NLS algae gel anyway It's only £5 (aprox $9) for them to post a 12oz bag to Australia if anyone was interested
  20. I don't think so, bu then again I haven't used Soilent Green in a while. However, I do know that Super Green with the addition of an animal protein source is more nutritionally-appropriate for goldfish than Soilent Green alone, so that's why I use the AlgaeGel with the addition of a protein source. Right now I am using both RedRum and Spawn and Grow as supplements for Protiens, since I have no access to frozen bloodworms. In the summer, I used Super Green and FBW and got amazing results in growth, color, and spawning in all of my fish. Thank you that's very helpful! I purchased some of the algae gel today so it should be here next week ???? I think my fish get more variety in food then I do ????
  21. I haven't used the Supergreen repashy before only the soilent green Would the Nutrigel be more similar to that one?
