  1. This is what I managed to get https://www.aquaristiconline.com.au/products/blueplanetfluketapeworm25tablets does it look ok and am I ready to go ahead and follow the instructions for treatment? It does say clean the filter have treatment, what do you think they mean by this? I don't use carbon in my filter, would it be worth just adding some for a bit after completion.
  2. Thanks so much! Going to get some prazi and will update you guys with what I can get. I'm gonna up my water changes too, I think I got complacent as my water results were always so good.
  3. I have never prazi'd the tank. Should I do it now? Would the scratch be worth treating with some salt or melafix? A photo of the whole tank, just silk plants and mainly smooth rocks. I add plants every now and then but mainly for clementine to eat http://i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k597/Andrea-Cronshaw/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zps0xajks33.jpeg
  4. I'm trying to upload a video where it is shown a lot clearer then this horrible photos!

No treatments for current fish or over past 3 years. * Any unusual findings on the fish such as "grains of salt," bloody streaks, frayed fins or fungus? Either scale lose or a fungi growing on fish, very hard to tell * Any unusual behavior like staying at the bottom, not eating, etc.? Normal behaviour, slightly clamped fins at small intervals. But trying to rub on a rock a lot! Almost like she is trying to get under it, but I think is trying to itch or is being irritated? Hi! So as said, I'm having a problem with my comet fish called Clementine which is either some scale lose, a fungi or possibly parasites. I'm a bit of a loss and I'm not sure what to do and I would love your help. I've attached photos but it's very hard to get a photo of. It does not appear cotton like, it appears quite flat but looks more than just scale lose. It's been like this for a few days now, has not worsened or gotten better. Clementine seems her happy self and is eating and swimming around. I only think it could be parasites as she is rubbing at the rock a lot, I added plants a few months ago (which she ate within 2 weeks) but nothing else has been added. Oh temperature has been fluctuating a bit, by a few degrees as our weather is extremely up and down at the moment. Please let me know if I need to answer any more questions
  6. Oooooo you want me to have fancy goldfish again They are all gorgeous and I very much like the look of the tank too!
  7. Be careful with what hose you use but!! We have a very similar looking hose in Australia, and there is a warning on that says 'Do not drink from this hose' as it may be contaminated, they say this themselves! Please check the packaging

    New Guy

Oh that's lovely. Poor little guy, I'm glad you rescued him That blue is gorgeous.
  9. Sometimes people are just unlucky. My boss kept a betta in a small bowl for probably about a year or more with no heater, no plants to hide in, no lid and no water conditioner used! (She now has a different one in a proper tropical tank). I brought one in a heated cycled 21 litre tank and he jumped out of it within 3 months. I brought a new one and he also died most likely from parasites in less than 3 months Don't let what people say get to you, the best of us can lose fish very quickly even when we do everything right. It's hard when you see people doing everything wrong and their fish is fine. But you have to remember you are doing the right thing and offering these fish the best lives they can have I also agree with Helen about the quality of fish and fish shops going way down, it makes me so sad. I am so sorry for the loss of your fish, I went through nearly the same thing at the start of the year with one of my goldfish, it's horrible.
  10. Just adding to what Chelsea said above, once I put this plant in my tank which I now completely forget the name of sorry, but Clementine absolutely destroyed it and I've never seen her poop so much. She was literally like a non stop pooping machine as she had control of how much she could eat and I guess because it's greenery it went straight through her? I'll leave it up to more experienced people in regards to whether you should put more plants in I find pretty much any soft leafy ones they'll eat and will make Newton happy.
  11. I am completely blanking on what they are called, but I think they are quiet hardy. They are the plant people often attach to driftwood or rocks, with kinda triangular shaped green tough leaves. I actually have some very small ones, but there are new ones growing in the leaves off some of the plants.
  12. Thanks. Do plants survive the bleach treatment? I actually have some nice plants growing, be a shame to see them die or to toss them.
  13. Thanks Alex. What's the method with that however?
  14. I am really not sure where to put this post, so please feel free to move it. I recently lost my betta, Albus, as some of you may know. I am not continuing with betta's for now (or very a long time) so I was thinking of putting some of the items from Albus's tank into my goldfish, Clementine's tank. This would include: *25 watt heater *thermometer *some plants I'm not too sure what Albus died of, but Narny did suggest parasites and this seems more than likely. So of course I don't want to just dumb all the stuff into Clementine's tank, but I've never cleaned anything like this as I've always brought brand new equipment and tank. How should I clean these items correctly so I get no contamination? The last thing I want to do is get Clementine sick! If it is not worth it, I'll just scrap the idea. Also is it worth having a 25 watt heater in a 90 litre tank? I mean I currently have no heater and water gets under 18 degrees, so is something better than nothing?
